Well, another successful year. Once again, the compadres from around the globe came out to SummitCounty to rally up and make the Summit Expression Session a HUGE success.
DAY ONE: Opening day – CopperMountain. We couldn't have asked for a better set up and the Super B. Sunshine, groomers, and lots of excitement set the tone for opening day. Copper really came through this year with not only loads of fantastic grooming, but also as a sponsor of the event they sent us tons of gifts.
DAY TWO: Beaver Creek. What can we say, there are no words. Demo tent set up at the base of Centennial chair. We got so much response from first timers, and people who just walked up and wanted to demo boards. Ron Rupert helped us set up an informal race course, and got us in free at the Nastar course that afternoon.
DAY THREE: If you didn't have fun at Beaver Creek, you had to be trying pretty hard. A fabulous 2nd day here, and once again Ron Rupert got us going with the Limbo contest. Best record yet: 11.5 inches! Another super warm sunny day, sunscreen was needed!
DAY FOUR: ArapahoeBasin is not only a local's favorite, but also an SES classic. We spent ½ day here with the afternoon for rest, and then on to Keystone for night riding. Weather was warm, and the snow was awesome. Really really good conditions.
DAY FIVE: Keystone – dependable, reliable, always good. We picked a great resort to close the event. Conditions were a little chilly, but it made for great riding. Keystone also sponsored the event, with lift tickets for the raffle giveaway.
The end of the week party was superb! Giveaways for the raffle included Prior snowboard, Donek snowboard, Catek bindings, Trench Bindings, tons of shirts, boot bags, board bags, set of Raichle boots, wax, tuning equipment, and lift tickets. The Holiday Inn provided us with a great selection of food and libations. Probably the hit of the night was the video that Corby Peterson put together. He filmed all week, and it seemed he was able to get a shot of almost everyone.
Thanks to everyone that came out and participated to make this event happen! If it wasn't for you guys, the event would be very boring….:) Check out all the photos and enjoy!
Look for next year's dates to be set very soon!
* Special Thanks to all those who contributed by sending us your pictures. Special thanks to Charlie Conner and Kevin McDougall for the stacks of shots.
