How to post pics on BOL

I see a lot of "I dont know how to post pictures" statements, so I figured I'd give a little info. This is for WINDOWS:

the bomber software only allows for a max picture size of 800X600, or 100kb, which is plenty big for posting pics of things for sale, and decently sized for action shots.

here is ONE way to do it:

most of the photos you take will be larger than 800X600 (they should be if you want any decent shots!) SO...odds are your camera came with digital editing software. If so, use it. Find the "resize" function, as there likely is one.

    if not:

    http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...ertoySetup.exe

the above is one very, very simple program, easy to use.

    download it and install it.

THEN, either start your thread or hit reply and click "manage attachments" button that is a bit below the reply window. A popup window will open. Click "browse" then find the photo you would like to post.

when you have found the photo, right click on it, and "resize"

check the "800X600" or "640X480" option in the image resizer window. When you've picked the size, click "OK." A new file will be created with the desired size. It will most likely be at the END of the folder you are currently in. Find it, select it (double click or click and "open"). You can attach up to three images here I believe.

Once you have selected all desired images, click "upload" then once the files have uploaded successfully "close window" and "submit reply (or new thread)

    DONE.

there are many, many other programs that will do this for both mac and pc, some free, some cheap, some expensive. Try a google search for "image resize" or anything else that means about the same thing and you will find more results than you could possibly need.

ANOTHER option is to sign up for a free photo hosting site such as photobucket.com. You then upload your photos to that site, and a url (web address) is created. You copy this address, and then IN the text window for a new post, position your cursor where you want the photo, and click on the IMAGE button above. It will ask for the url of the desired photo. Enter this info (dont forget http://) and click ok. Voila!

www.tinypic.com works very well for this, is free, and you don't have to register or provide any personal info to use it.

Images you upload that are too large are automatically resized.
