Man this thread has taken some turns in its lifetime!! Is there an internet record for thread length?? Can the thread itself be considered "organic"?

Happy New Year! I'm stuck at work today, but hopefully I'll get off early and go to Park City after work. Hope everyone's having a good first day of the new year!

Bad end/start for me...ran over my neighbor's (they also plow my driveway) favorite cat as my final act of 2006...never even saw it at 40mph until too late - and I LOVE cats. All the new snow we got two days ago has been hammered by rain and sleet today, supposed to be 40-45 degrees and rain later this week - all my races have been cancelled again for the coming weekend (7 so far this season). I'm not feeling to good today.

At least it's all got me thinking creatively about either trying to find a temp crash pad in the Rockies so I can at least ride/race for the next two months and still pay my rent back here...or ditching it all and going to Florida with the same plan to race kayaks and get a jump on the competiton next spring - probably won't do either but it's nice to imagine the possibilities.

Thinking of seeing if I can find a kitten for my neighbors.

    Who wanted a white Christmas???

Come to Australia. Fight massive bushfires. Swelter in 40+ degree heat. Have a snowfight on Christmas Day. All within 48 hours, all at one our most frequented ski resorts!

    vegas baby

Anyone know where I can get a cheap rate on a room in Vegas? I want to stay at the Luxor but the rates are outrageous. I've checked all my usual sites with no luck.

Have you tried hotels.com? Also hoteldiscount.com. I've used those in the past in Vegas.

Dude, that's really harsh. I would feel TERRIBLE.

Is it kitten season? How about a nice pre-owned cat from the shelter?

Thanks Allee - I still feel sick about it two days later. It's never happened to me before with someone's pet. I'm going to the shelter in Montpelier tomorrow.

Thanks for the offer Lee, but I have to go for work and I need to be close to the convention center at Mandalay Bay. I usually stay at the Luxor because it's about 1/2 the price of Mandalay Bay, but this year all the prices in Vegas have shot up! I'm going to book at MGM, hopefully it's a nice place. Excaliber makes me want to puke for some reason. Smells funny.

If it's on Fin, live it up in the Presidential Suite!!! Just as long as it doesn't result in an increase in the price of the TD3. In that case, it's the Holiday Inn for you girl!

Shouldn't this read something like......"Hey anyone want to head to Vegas with me? Split a room, work the convention....."..
    Remember this is Aisling's thread.....

Almost 60 degrees in the northeast.....I might as well be in Vegas

    Happy New Year Michele!

Michele, its a few blocks off the strip but I stayed at the La Quinta in Vegas about a year ago. It was nice and access to the strip was pretty easy

No problem, thanks for the offer anyway.

Looks like I have found some REASONABLE lodging at MGM, although still quite expensive for Vegas. The prices are triple from last year! Thanks for all the help!
