Found this board last night at the local Goodwill. I'm always searching the goodwill stores for vintage snowboards but this is my first race board I've found. Looks like it has never been used.....and cost a grand total of $9.95. I've had a good year at goodwill stores this winter finding some good vintage stuff. Too bad it wasn't longer, but I guess it will fit the wall better (lol).

I've been collecting them. This year, goodwill has produced the following boards for my collection:

Rossignol VAS 159
Nitro Diablo 178
Nitro Pyro 155
Barfoot "Jon Boyer" pro model
Colorado Snowboards 163 (crazy graphic design)
Gnu Pharaoh
and off of shopgoodwill.com I was the only bidder on a HyArc. Snagged it for $7.95
and it was for 'local pickup only'. Also found a couple good sets of baseless bindings. I've never tried them before so one of these days, possibly vintage day at Hyak I'll give them a try. The Barfoot was the most expensive at $29 but well worth it. All came with bindings too.

That's awesome. I should swing by the shop by me some time. I love the vintage stuff because it brings back memories. I still have my Burton Air 162 from 1990, Burton Asym Air from 1996, and Burton Air 5.0 from 1992. Unfortunately I sold my Burton Performer Elite 140 a long time ago.

I had that Rossi as my first board. I think mine was a 153, its across country now so I can't check. It was a bit of a pig from what I remember. Really wide and not too quick edge transition. I love that they made a symmetric board asymmetric. I believe you were supposed to be able to change the V.A.S to either side depending on your orientation, though I believe they made the weights for either stance. I think those have been swapped as I believe mine angle inline with the binding.

I stopped by Goodwill again today and they had this old Rad Air 52 board with early Rossignol step in bindings. I try to buy pre 4-hole style boards for my vintage collection so I let this pass for someone else. Interesting design and heavy as heck.

Nitro diablo 186 was the first twin tip board i bought in '91(pre-insert), loved that board in the steep & deep at alpental.
The Hyarc at Hyak is perfect; I recommend using hardboots for precise control over the contraption.

Did you really use poles when riding your Hyarc board? I have a lot of folks who want to give my board a try so I'll be sure to take some video. I'm also breaking in a snowbike, giving that sport a try. Always good to have lots of options....

Yep I use poles all the time on everything but the snowbike. Don't like to use the little foot skis on the bike either, it takes weight off of your bikes edges.

I have both a Brenter C4 (with foot ski's) and a Geary snowbike with pegs. I just got the Geary so I am still on the learning curve with the pegger bike.

Which goodwill you go to. the picture doesn't look like the one on dearborn. I was just on 4th and clemons "i think" and I noticed one over there. Good find. just courious

4-corners in Maple Valley is where I hit the most. Found the Pharaoh, Diablo and Barfoot in Selah, WA Goodwill (my hometown).
