Looks like they groomed Cougar finally - the first time in a week. Looks good enough, but we’ll see how it carves.

The amped up carvers yell at some random passersby “Hey! We carve better than you!!!” Hmmm.... no one seems to be taking us seriously. That sounded so much more awesome when we practiced it in the bathroom mirror this morning......

Well, we make a few scratches in the lumpy groom on Cougar Lane 4 and then Holy Land. Pretty rough conditions in spots - might have been a few skids in there somewhere.

We do worry about being able to find our boards on the rack after a little lunch break though - holy cow, how do we put up with all these crowds?????

Apre carve, Rabbit votes that we stop in at the Hole Bagel again. She orders up a toasty breakfast bagel with bacon - YUM!!! And friendly proprietor Kohl gets a nice fresh Bomber Card - yes, you soft booting bagel pusher - come to the dark side....! Bwahahahaha!!!!

Hmmm.... looks a little foggy on the hill this morning and it’s trying to spit snow. Still, the SkES crew is undaunted.

The carving crew gets fired up with a Radness Yell at the top of Lane 7. That’s right! Check us out!!!

Wow, this is what we dream of - Lane 7 in hero conditions and no race course in our way, and yet...... the light is so flat you only know your board is on the snow by the sound it makes. Well, we’ll have a go at it anyway.

OK, we got in a few good turns, but then the snow snakes hiding in the flat light got us. It’s that deceptive light where you think you can see, until you get up to speed and realize a little too late that you can’t actually see anything. The only good news is we pulled off a nice Zero 2 Hero maneuver in the soft snow, but after that we started racking up the penalties like crazy.

Oh, let me count the ways to lose points: pat the dog (we were trying to find the slope that we couldn’t see), left a side zip open and filled our pant leg with snow (man, I hate it when that happens!) and then we wiped out big time. At least we didn’t lose any duct tape......

Grrrr. With shoulder aching, pride bruised and eyes feeling strained, we decide to hang it up until night skiing. Maybe the visibility will be better with lights....

The hill is pretty busy with after school racers in the evening, but at least we’ll be earning some extra points.

Ah! Visibility is much better at night! And we found the last patch of untracked groom - it’s at least a foot wide and 3 feet long. We have fun leaving a few marks on the hill.

The merry carvers return to SkES House after a super time night riding only to find...?????? GNOMES IN THE HOT TUB????????? Holy Home Invasion! Three gnomes have found their way to SkES house and have invaded the sanctity of our hot tub!!! These guys are dressed to party and they even got into the root beer!!!!

Well, they don’t seem to be leaving any time soon, so we may as well put on our best red party hats and join them!

And look at this - 4 people in the one person hot tub earns us big C.N.A.R. points too! Sweet!

Great job with the fun intertaining and silly posts with the games at SKES ! In honor of fun for all we will be playing by SKES rules for feb 26th at our carve event N.I.C.E. Unbelievable - it’s already the last day of the Snow King Expression Session for 2012! We can’t believe how the time flies when you’re with such good friends, sharing the mountain and making heart warming memories together. We know we’ll cherish all the great times we’ve had with this year’s carving crew at SkES!



The day dawns bright and sunny, with the whole mountain (at least the parts we care about) groomed and in perfect condition! The carving crew is feeling very pleased with their C.N.A.R. point totals and they decide just to go for “First Chair” points today (even if that does mean having to get up early enough to be at the lift on time for opening bell!!!) and not concern themselves racking up any more points beyond that - our radness has been proven!

Last run of the day, two_ravens decides to throw down a few last eurocarves just for fun. But wait!!! Who is that we see on the tail of her board?!?!?!? Is it???? Could it be...????? It is!!!!!! It’s Mud Flap Guy, also throwing down a perfect, fully laid euro carve - and he’s butt naked!!! That, my friend, is worth serious C.N.A.R. points!!!!

A quick review of the photographic evidence shows that Mud Flap Guy has been taking part in this entire contest - everywhere that two_ravens has been with the blue flame Coiler, he’s been there too - in good conditions and bad, even braving the crowded lift lines - and completely neked the entire time!

The independent judging committee for the SkES C.N.A.R. contest determines that the score cards for the entire contest must be reviewed. They observe that, while Mud Flap Guy has not let out a single Radness Yell or Ego Claim, has no mittens, didn’t get in the hot tub and appears to have stayed home on the powder day, he does seem to have participated in every actual bona-fide carving activity. The judges tally the scores and have reached their conclusion.....

It’s an amazing turn of events folks!!! As the sun sets on the final day of SkES 2012 the score cards tell the story. In a total surprise ending - in an amazing 'come from behind' win - Mud Flap Guy has prevailed and the judges have declared him the winner of C.N.A.R. for SkES 2012!!!!!!!!!
