If you guys play the banjo i'm not comming. On a serious note what is the best way to get to Whitfish comming from Nelson BC ? Might be three humanoids and two dogs . Any place to stay thats dog friendly. (Rescue dogs in training). Tell me it's not going to be -40 and i don't have to bring my one piece suit as well.

    howdy all
didn't know what to expect after wenesday and thursday's meltdown.
kinda knew it would be very icy, but today it wasn't so bad. there was
an inch plus of new snow and was snowing all morning and stopped in
the afternoon. really icy firm made it hard to dig in at times, but was
mostly carvable up high. still lots of rocks showing up and down low
on toni matt grass still showing thru. not the best day, but still had fun.
    rode my 160speed from 9:30 till 4:30...

Either to Creston and down to US 2 if you like more miles in the US, or through Cranbrook to US 93 if you want to stay on Canadian roads longer. Looks like similar mileage. I've never been beyond Troy on US 2, so only know that Cranbrook to Whitefish is easy (no nasty passes, good plowing).

As for the one piece, it's mandatory.
Fresh snow is like fresh bread; it's only fresh for a day.

My wife burned the two piece. Hope it doesn't get too cold they may look dated but you can't beat them for warmth. Looks like Creston route is most probable unless i go directly from Castlegar airport. Trying to connect the dots tonite to make this trip possible. Thanks for the reply.

    howdy all
knew it would be good with slighty cooler temps and no new snow. the
groom is really buffed out smooth, the bottom part was a hair icy in the
morning, but with a beautiful bluebird morning and the sun shining it
softened up just right then some clouds kept it perfect in the afternoon.
had a berney sighting in the morning and met big canuck in the summit
and did a few runs with him on eds. very light crowds and upper mullys
still had cords late in the day. still hitting rocks and cringe every time.
forcast is some snow early tomorrow.
    rode my fp171 from 9 till 4...

    The 158

Pretty sure I own that 158 now. Think about the trade bud.

It was fun riding with you today, had a blast. It was a beauty day on the hill today. Carbo Monster comes out tomorrow.

My buddy Brenny crashed right after you left, spine board, trip to the hospital.

    He's ok, but stiff.

Big Canuck don't drink up all the beer before the Cleveland two get in town. How is the Bierstube is it still open ?
Do I need a rock board? I'm thinking about leaving the new toy at home.
How did it get this late so early.

I'm looking into getting a room at the Hibernation House Motel right there on the mtn. Its double occupancy and I need someone else to go in with me on a room for the nights of Wed. Jan 25th and Thurs. 26th.

Its only $79 per person per night and lift ticket and breakfast are provided.

Anyone interested? Please let me know.

    Thank you,

    Yo Cuban!

still trying to empty this town of beer!!!! Damn they have a lot!! We will not be deterrred!!!

Crazy conditions on the hill, (almost) needed the rock board yesterday, It was wicked bluebird, nice carving conditions for the most part IMO

Today, blowing snow, tough vis, all good for the WTF'rs inbound i'd say.

Busted out the Madd BX board with the Burton Sabbath softies and had a blast. You'd do a run on the backside and by the time you finished the run and took the chair back up you could not see your tracks.

Cuban, yesterday I would have told you bring the rock board, today a guy needed the AM board.

I'll follow up tomorrow. I think they're supposed get more snow tonight.

    howdy all
report of three inches of new wet snow, so got the softies out. first few
runs were sweet butter then try to find some funny lines that no one
goes. got bumpy with the tracked up wet snow. foggy on the very top,
clear then foggy again then some snow then clear again. was a fun day
riding softies for a change. got home and between 2 and 3pm snowed
an inch of fluffy stuff here in town. forcast is cool temps and no new
snow for a few days so should be good groomers with the new stuff.
rode my amp5 softies from 9 till 1...

    Rocks Off

Cuban, no need for rock boards, at least not for carving on the groomers. I brought out the good stuff weeks ago. Today was carvelicious. Big Ravine has been the go-to run of late.

Allee??? anyone else coming down from Calgary?

    Local crowd? everyday, right?

Is Buster or any other folks flying in this year?

The last time I posted I said I was going to be there 2 or 3 days no matter what. I was talking about snow conditions.
Wednesday at Stevens Pass I broke my tibia at the ankle. On the first run of the first day we were there. I am not going to make it to WTF this year.
