I'm in again for sure. None of the Calgary crew are going to Aspen next year, so I'm hoping to talk some of them into a long weekend at Whitefish instead.![]()

well, I'm not really a local, but a Montanan none the less... so OF COURSE I'll be there at some point! logistics all work out later
(has anyone found that tree that grows money yet??? come on guys.... share)
but I domy "new" gear! That will last me a few years, I'm sure!
I agree West. Its never to early to think or plan for snow. I'm in I booked my flight last week and starting to look at lodging. The full week January 20-28. I would stay longer if I had a money tree
How did it get this late so early.
I think Cuban would take the WHOLE winter off if he found that money tree, but I think we'd have to attack him and make him share!
Any snow in those mountains yet?
Im all in . Booked the lodging a couple days ago. We just need snow.
How did it get this late so early.
I don't know what's going on in Whitefish, but down here we've got a high in the mid 80s predicted through the weekend!
Tower fixed. They even ran it a few hours today for scenic lift rides.
Now we just wait....
Fresh snow is like fresh bread; it's only fresh for a day.
Hello Whitefish. I hope everyone is well and trust you are doing your best snow dance.
Do we know how many men and women will make it to the WTF this year. Shred and myself. - 2

Winter is coming... it's just not here yet.
Video from yesterday. Still less than a foot at the summit. WTF, ride on!

Call Snopes. The sun is out and the sky is blue. That's not Whitefish at all.![]()

Yeah, too much sun for Whitefish. Even when I think it's finally going to storm and I head up, the sun comes out. Happened Tuesday:
Picked up a couple inches at the house last night; I'll check out out. Starting to feel like Colorado or Utah -- snow at night, clear days -- but accumulating in inches instead of feet; this is going to take forever...
Fresh snow is like fresh bread; it's only fresh for a day.
One inch at a time.
Getting deeper.
One inch at a time.
Guess that's enough video blogging for one week. I've jacked this thread and made it John's video blog lately.

hey, keep the vids coming, we all live vicariously thru you...
great up-dates as we can see what is happening on the big...
John, we LOVEyour videos..... keep em coming!
Sorry I can't make WTF but I will be there Feb 20-24. Love to make some turns with any hardbooting locals.
Neil, post here when you come to town. Someone will be hardbooting nearly every day, we can hook up on the slopes and then have a drink at the Hellroaring or the 'Stube.
If you're still here evening of the 25th, there will be roller derby in Kalispell. Just another aspect of the Montucky life. E.g. pics from last Saturday:
- Hike and ride (job #1).
- Beer Pong (while not really watching Griz football).
- Roller Derby.
- Dance 'til wee hours (with the young and beautiful set at Crush)
Fresh snow is like fresh bread; it's only fresh for a day.
Was gonna settle for stills, but clearly I have too much time on my hands.
I gotta stop carrying a camera around; darn these pocket cameras.
If it would just SNOW, I'd be too busy for this!
Seems like I do 80% of my videos in the shoulder seasons.

If there's roller derby in town, then you need Riceball on the job! I hear he's awesome at the derby, although I haven't seen a match yet.

Good work John,,,glad you are keeping track of the important stuff!! Snow is minimal in southern Montucky too,,,,Targhee opened today with just the shoshone lift on the beginners area running. Although they have received over 80 inches to date this season,,,high winds have stripped it all down,,,snow dance with naked nymphs,,suppose to be the most effective!!
Whitefish web video. John did you get that one piece dry? Check out the the pond skimming.

Ha ha, that is me is me going for a swim in the yellow sharpie suit (aka toxic Elvis suit). Felt like I made it farther that time, but I guess not. All dried out now and ready to blind people for another season.
Less than a week 'til opening and there's only a couple of feet at the summit. Looks like a back-side only opener this year.
Went to Fernie yesterday; they've had around 100 inches so far, enough for 30+ settled in most of Lizard bowl. Had fun; might have to go there again next weekend if the sky doesn't open up soon.
