    Wink Warning;more gopro video...

Well,it's with my proverbial tail between my legs that I have to admit that very little of what I thought I had for non gopro footage was usable due to a finicky and unreliable camera.

So,with that in mind,my two little boys and I collaborated on another carving/family fun collection of clips made up mostly of gopro clips from our Sundays up on Silver Mountain and at their killer waterpark. My 7 year old, Evan picked the tune from youtube's library.Cute tune

I still have more riding vid to edit for an all carving/riding vid without the family stuff for those who aren't into the family thing.

As for more variety of camera shots, maybe next year.

For now,we're just keepin up the summer stoke...

    Talking Here's a revised version...

that is a better promotion of my home mountain, since I eliminated the clips of me blowing past multiple 'slow' signs and replaced them with some other stuff.Still used the same tune that 7 year old Evan picked.

In it is a clip of me taking a well deserved dip in the pond skimming contest

Talking A gopro video without ...

filler and family stuff.Just gopro footage of different days in the same retro flash blue jacket, including a couple variations on the tailspin a decent circle and some mild switch riding.Yet another tune from youtube's library...this time a canned tuned from their 'musicshake' .It's fun to leave up to fate the video soundtrack by just finding a tune the same length as the video instead of editing footage to suit a song. The 'accidental' sync in the opening clip on this one is pretty cool. The last clip has the camera breaking off from the bracket I had mounting it beyond the nose of the diablo.I only had to learn that lesson once.
    I can't wait for the 11/12 season!

Thumbs up Here's footage shot from the mount...

I have developed to isolate and dampen vibration. This system will work with several brands of bindings I have tried with no mods required to the bindings or board. The footage shown has not been edited for shake.

Talking I'm sure the engineers among...

the Bomber faithful can figure it out but I will post more complete pics of the finished product soon.It is made mostly of aluminum and is completely modular for different viewpoints and board lengths. One of those things that many here could make on their own,but that many others would not have the time, tools or space to produce for themselves. So I hope to be the guy to make it and sell it to you:-)

Certainly no get-rich delusions but I love the idea of designing and producing something fun and possibly even useful in exchange for modest compensation. The American dream...

I have a softie mount in the works but this one is my pride and joy since it works well on my favorite longboard:-)It places the camera lense up to 27" from the leading edge of the toe of my front boot. The snowboard school at Silver Mountain will soon be testing the softie version out for movement analysis purposes, which for me has always been part of the concept. The mount can be used with the camera facing forward or backward and on the nose or tail of the board.Another configuration I have ready is to raise the camera high enough to avoid being sprayed as much in powder when on the tail facing forward.

    Talking The latest...

This time I used the shorter version of the mount with the taller 960x1280 framing mode.Firm and choppy snow on black runs in the later clips have been a good test of the toughness of the design.

    Questions

    Cool videos!

What bindings are you using? They seem to offer quite a bit of flex.

On some of the more laid over carves, it looks like you're booting out on both toe and heel side. Do you notice this at all when you ride or is it not really as bad as it looks (especially on toe side)?

I will soon, but there a few details I want to work out first.I plan to have some other riders try it this week;and then...

@lafcadio, I am using SnoPro Race bindings. What you see is not so much flex as slop adjusted in the binding to allow the mobility my knees prefer. This is my poorman's method of achieving some semblence of what Sidewinders are designed to do without slop. The shape and direction of the bails' contact points allows me have a tiny amount of occasional drag in the snow with little to no noticable drag.Maybe more info than you want, but the angles I'm running in the vid are 53 front with 1/4" toelift and no cant, and 52 rear with 1/4" heel lift and 3 degree cant, and my stance is exactly 21" currently.(all subject to change at any time:-)

Thanks to those who have had positive things to say.It helps me keep my eye on the prize.

Cool More camera mount tests at Silver Mountain...

Some of the later clips are Not for the easily nauseated as I was experimenting with a pivoting head that was counter weighted to swing freely but right itself according to the horizon.Sort of works but some obvious kinks to work out.The cable operated version used earlier in the video is more promising I think. The free pivot is great for setting the GoPro to take photos every 2 seconds however;when I get the new H2 camera the quicker shutter speed will make for some cool shots without the blur I get with the slower HD1.

How have you mounted the pole to the binding interface? I just fabbed a telescoping pole that I can mount to the cut-out in the front of the TD2 toe....need to get a handlebar mount for the go pro and give it a shot.

Is done by replacing two bolts for the binding disc with longer ones to secure the boom on top of the disc but under the boot.I haven't adapted this design to TD's yet but will soon.

Dang, I totally missed this. Sorry about that to both of you Nathan and Steve.

Nathan you are doing awesome! This is right about where KarverKai was at six if you look back at some of his older vids. It won't be very long, working with your dad, that you will be carving up the mountain with him. Just like KarverKai and I do now. I expect we will be seeing you at SES in a couple years to ride with the other boys, KK, Billy and Cody.

You have something to be very proud of Steve. Keep having fun.
