Mike rode it Tuesday without the "plate stix". We have at least another month to play on Mt Hood before the race camps start. We should be able to hear back about the out come. His newest plate hardware is working really well and it is super light. More to come.

Currently I think my new board will be a combination of the three boards in the photo. Just guessing right now, but something like. Narrow-18.5cm Waist. TNT , lower/shorter nose , inserts placed for his newest plate hardware, handle in plate, lowered/lightened plate (26th generation tinkler plate system ) with newest snow stix designed with plate integration and adjustment. Topsheet of my design on both plate and board plus a couple active options that have not yet been discussed. Hopefully be on it next season on the very end of this one. Might go a bit shorter for my steeper pitch days. Built for a 225lber (meaning I must loose at least 25lbs by next season) Bryan

As you can imagine, we get that comment allot on the mountain.

We field allot of questions in the lift line. Although we move pretty quick so it doesn't drag out very long. We often end up with "Stalkers" trying to figure out what is going on. Many of which are skiers. They often ask the best questions too. Fun to see folks get excited about the boards and alpine riding.

If I saw you and that board, I'd be stalking you too! And I'd probably be begging for a demo ride!

Hey, Shred... I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but I heard that someone looking just like your girl was seen hanging out with a park monkey. She was sliding rails and bonking everything she came to. Heard she really liked tabletops. Just hoping your girl hasn't been taking any long weekends away from you.

    Crap.... I'm just jealous.

Very nice, I always thought the BD was 173cm, 176 is different as well as the butterfly, and I know it's not an afterthought like the madds, it's part of the construction...so is it fatter at the waist also?
I've had two of these suckers and enjoy the rebound.

These new school series Frank made through these last years are not what they were before: decambered nose, one layer of titanal, and so on. Much easier too ride than the former series without losening that typical Virus feelin'. Lookin' forward to ride this one. People who have ridden this Slayer, are raving about it. Still keep my old school Cyborg Bling Bling

BD III EVO Zylon: 15cm at the waist.

now if the butterfly was split from the middle back, it'd be a little bit f2'ish.

    fine looking board.

The lenght and butterfly tells me its a Gladiator and not a Black Death, although thats what it says. The real deciding thing in the waist width...not that names matter much, but thats how its been done in the past, as I am sure you know. Sweet looking board for sure, Frank did a great job on it.

It is a BlackDeath (Version 3 since the past season, that's why it's now 176 and not 173 anymore).
In Zylon 3D construction (Evo) like the one of a Gladiator2. Frank showed up with them at the Carving Masters May 1st.

It was amazing to really directly compare an Evo3 board with a Zylon 3D Evo board that both have the same shape. Best board I've ever ridden! What are people usually saying: The better is the enemy of the good....

    Cheers Max
PS: There was also another great new construction, the new Nightmare2

But in principle it's something like a BD3ZylonSlayerEvo edition?

    Which colour?

    Boo Yah!!!

New Coilers. Plankenstein Squared, and Horny.

The Plank is based off Shred's borad with a slightly squarer nose. Why more people don't own this board is surprizing. For a long, wide board, it turns super easy. 188, 23 cm waist, 13 m SCR blend (I think...)

Second is Horny, This is a board Shred dreamed up and he let me get it built by Bruce 170 20 cm waist, 13 SCR blend (I think....)

The black board still has the protective cover sheet, It has the gloss black ghost flame topsheet (sick)

I'm in Vail right now I wish it was winter.

Your A lucky man! I have10 or 20 runs on on that masterpiece. So easy to turn even on the first run. I should never have passed on that Plankinstein.
How did it get this late so early.

    Tinkler Sliding Plate

So Tinkler went with the sliding component actually being the plate. It's an option that most of the plate makers will have considered. I certainly did, and then discarded it on the basis of controlling the wear on the plate, especially the wear due to lateral forces between plate and pins and the necessity to keep the sliding portions away from the bindings.

If Mike Tinkler sees this can he comment or explain how he dealt with this potential issue, please.

I think you will see more of the results of the on snow testing in the coming months. Or, if you are up at Timberline you might see them in action sooner I was the first to ride his latest Plate system and I think it is going to definitely turn some heads.

    Yea Baby

Ulalalalala, today I received a Skype call from Frank at Virus. He just finished my new Black Death III “Slayer”… and I saw it!!!!!
I am, just by seeing it via Skype totally, absolutely f*()*cking speechless

Geez, it has been quite some time that I got so excited to finally see (and ride off course!!!) my new board. Since I am not at all worried about the fact how this baby will ride, duh!!! I am at this point just drooling all over myself on the simple fact how it looks
I saw quite some design statements leaving the Virus factory lately, but this one, OMG! Sure, design is always personal taste, but you’ll see for yourself and tell me if I am wrong here. I will pick it up probably over the weekend and take some pics next week, so stay tuned...

OMG, just the thought alone that the flex might not be right for me and that this baby falls in other hands, no no no, don’t… aaarrgghhhhh…

my god, that bd virus is a sick piece of art. price tag on that?

super rad coilers too! any significant performance attributes to the horny cut outs or primarily aesthetic? very cool. a bit suggestive of guitar cut outs; makes me want a bc rich variation; aggressively angular and METAL.

odd to be cruising this forum now that summer has decidedly arrived...

Tony Iommi, I love you man!!

The Gibson guitar shape look alike was just an added bonus.

No perf enhancements that I know of, Shred thought it up, and I thought it would look wicked (in both senses of the word).

Got er mounted with my S Flex plates and TD3 SI looks so bad ass.
