My first prototype board I am making is going to have a wood veneer topsheet. Aiming to have it done by Christmas, stay TUNED!
Proteus, 180cm, 13m Radius.
Carbon and metal and rubber OH MY!
cant freakin wait for this weekend.
We're going to COP tomorrow am at 10 if you're interested.
Talk soon
Kurt
Working tomorrow sadly.
Hitting the mountains on Monday though if you are off work.
...would do a skip work and board day so you could watch me flounder on the new board, but, sadly have to work too.
I should be there saturday tho...
the donek looks like good times.
how is cop for carving? i'm in calgary for a week over xmas & staying nearby; wondering if it's worth pleading my case for bringing gear with me (on top of juggling kids & associated paraphernalia).
Its half closed right now as they are trying to make the one side big enough to host FIS SL races. They are adding a new high speed quad when its done but I don't know if they'll get it done for this year....
But, its 10 minutes from my house so I go burn around a couple hours during the day when its quiet and i just get my ya ya's out.
For being inner city its great. Its is maybe 1/10 the size of Cypress...?
Dunno if it would be worth bring gear just to do COP.... If you were heading out to Nakiska, then you're talking.
My $0.02
Sorry for the thread Hi-jack.
What Big Canuck said.
+1 on Nakiska that place is a carver's Mecca.

They say that the best weapon is the one you never have to fire. I respectfully disagree. I prefer the weapon you only have to fire once. That's how Dad did it, that's how America does it, and it's worked out pretty well so far.
Now all I need is snow!!![]()

My friends non carver needed new boards this year. So instead of getting boards on the rack at the shop I told them they could have a custom build board for less. Pretty easy to sell to buy 2 new Donek
Talking to Sean to build the boards was great. Took the time to explain and listen to their needs to adjust the boards properly. Boards came out amazing, the graphics looks like HD and obviousely as we already know the conscturtion is flawless.

Something a bit different. Had Bruce build up a soft boot board for those days that I just wanted to ride in soft boots. It's a 164 with a 23.5 waist width. So nice to have little feet. Don't know yet whether to put a top sheet on or just leave it naked.
Bruce was telling me that he had a "prototype" softie out last year and it yielded good results. It'll be interesting to get a report on how it rides. A unique Coiler indeed.
Might want to knock the angles on that BX slab back a bit. You're under-hung like a session of winter swimming with the polar bear club.
howdy shred
dibs on the virus, i know how you go thru them ladies...
west carven
Not a BX board. It's a freeride board, softer and deeper sidecut than BX. Underhang is more of an illusion due to angle of pic.
@ Hilux,
My Coiler softboot carver, bought last year from a BOL member.
I don't know if it's the spoken prototype.
Specs from the seller :
Length: 152cm
Running Length: 132cm
Waist Width: 240mm
Taper: 6mm
Radius: 9m
Funny board for my 141 lbs, mounted with Burton Elevator and C60 bindings.
For those who are interested, I'll post a report later.
Still hesitating between Bomber and Kessler plates to replace Elevators.
