Coiler VSR 171 AM T - The Dragon

The dragon has landed! I'm blown away by the quality of the board and the topsheet came out perfectly. Thanks Bruce! Ride report Sunday if the snow's good.

Threadjack: I had the identical bike, but toasted it earlier this year in a brain-fart move by driving into the garage with it on the roof. Agree, sweet handling bike. Lot of fun. RIP.

Ti_Knee...Nice ride! Bruce just sent me a pic of my board too...apparently there were a few just-completed AMT's hanging out together, yours was in the pic too. Quality looks great and nice design!

It looks even better in person. There is a fade from red to orange on the eyes and flowers that doesn't really turn up in the photo.

Hilux, was yours the coffee or the skull? If it's the coffee one, I'm jealous now--total coffee junkie.

Mine was the coffee...love the bean The idea came from another board I saw on here last year with the grains of rice (DMC perhaps?) so I thought , "hey I can do that with coffee!" At first I just wanted all beans...then I talked to the graphics guru Stephen Fleck who with a wonderful artistic eye, suggested a few more things and made the rest possible...will post up photos after I get it

I like the contrast in colours on your though and the "coiler" font is awesome! You get the 21cm waist?

I wear a 27 boot, and ride about 55, 53 so opted for the 20 cm. I sent that font to one other member on here, so it might make another appearance on another board.

I just finished an initial tune between writing up a research paper... very therapeutic when one is under the gun! No offense to Chris, but the build quality of the Coiler is superior to my Prior 4wd in every way visually. We'll see how the ride compares, although it's comparing apples and oranges I suppose. I'd be curious to do a back to back of a FLC at some point if anybody in AB has one.

OT: order some coffee from Transcend in Edmonton, 49th Parallel in Vancouver, or Social Coffee (out east somewhere). You'll be blown away. I roast my own now, but all 3 produce some amazing brew!

Wow, that really does look amazing. Congrats! Even the faux bamboo totally works. Very subtle.

BTW, I didn't end up using the font, so your board is still unique!

    Tinkler Plates are Available Now.

Mike Tinkler is in production currently. 495$ I believe he is about a month out. Place an order with half down and the rest when completed but prior to shipping of course. I rode one of the final protos end of last season, it worked very well. I look forward to using the final product on one of my favorite Tinklers soon. Final production plates have integrated flex adjustment. This gives additional options of "how much" flex you want and where the "bottom" is, very handy. Bryan

Snow Stix inserts installed during construction. Owner did not (yet) purchase the Snow Stix. He wisely chose to have the inserts built into the board.

I just wrote to ask Mike to confirm. My best recall is 180cm length, 19.5cm waist, 10mm taper, 12-24 blended scr.

I have not seen this board in person yet. I hope to this week. If I do I will get some of my own photos of it outdoors if possible. It was built for a local Mt Hood rider. I hope to see it in action very soon. The owner is not a BOL member.

I took the other photo in it's high res form, edited the photos out and then re-sized them hopefully allowing greater detail.

Brian, Is Mike making UPM compatible plates for non-Tinkler boards? Beautiful work overall. That one sounds like a dream.

Yes. As matter of fact the plates will work with UPM AND 4x4 patterns , no additional parts required.

    Stiffest Tinkler Yet has arrived.

My new "Uber Stiff" Tinkler new shape racer has arrived. This is my "Feeling Strong" and "Brave" board. It is the stiffest board I have felt short of my one off Identity blem Carbon Race. Two additional layers of carbon fiber. Hope I am up to it.

It is on the far left in the group photo.

Nice group shot! Reminds me of that group photo of all of TVR's Virus boards all lined up.

What is on the counter, take some rips before the pics?

With the super stiff construction on the new board...did you alter the camber, or is it similar to the other Tinklers you own? Just curious because my super stiff Virus has like 35mm of camber!!!

    Hey Brian,

Sweet looking new rides. Are the 2 bolts just behind the front bindings on the Tinkler Plates for Snow Stix or what? I see some sort of "pad" under the plate in your close up shot. Can you elaborate for us please?

    Thanks,
