14-30m SCR Bamboo Donek with a nice matte carbon topsheet and a bangin chrome mud flap girl on the tail is in the incubation process. Hope this one makes it past the censors unlike the now retired General Lee. Also looking forward to a hard boot specific split of the new powder shape Sean and I worked on this past season. The push for this deck other than fantastic on snow performance in the widest possible allowable conditions is to be as light as possible without a huge sacrifice in durability. Lots of carbon and other lightening techniques to be incorporated in this one. A "race weight" unit also in the works.

I will never forget the day I had some years back on Bordys Silly Good. What an amazing ride but it was limited in wanting to do only city block sized turns and no other, put in a very broad but super usable variable side cut and wamo, options are abundant in the turn dept. The General was unbelievably good, best I have ever had the pleasure to ride, I am hoping this next board is even better.

“Yes, it is much more challenging to ski 210 cm toothpicks. But do you choose to go to the wooden outhouse in the wintertime? Or it is more pleasant to use the indoor toilet instead? Why take challenges from the past when we can go on and challenge us on what’s possible with the current technology?”

Hey Billy, hope you are doing well and it would be very cool to see you in Aspen next season again... and Dave for sure as well! Not sure if we can make it out to Park City, but who knows... anyway, would be fun to ride with you guys again
Cheers,
Ray

Can't lose what you never had!
There you go.
It was in 2007 when i rode the original Gladiator for the first time. What can I say: It was love at first sight. I ordered one taylor made to my needs and my weight. Back then, this was the best alpine board I could ever ride. Totally infected I wanted more: Sold the Gladi and got a Berserker Zylon. Great ride, could do the same as the Gladi but needs a lot of speed. The Berserker is therefore a bit more limited. I added a Pureboarding Bastard and a Virus UFC narrow to the quiver. But still there was the Gladi somewhere in the back of my head - still the echo of: "The best board I have ever ridden". Now Virus came up with something a new sexy piece.
Virus Gladiator II Zylon Evo III.
I couldn't resist!
176cm length, 17cm waist, variable sidecut, camembert nose, 3d zylon carbon construction. Different to the first Gladiator is the little tailkick, which i appreciate very much.
Pic quality is not so super. Just some quick shots with the mobile. The board is still on the other side of the Atlantic, while I am sitting here.

What I know from the FB forum is that the board is in Germany waiting for snowSo that's even worse: I can see it, you in the Dutch Antilles and your dream board somewhere on the other end of the world. Didn't know people just could tease themselves that way...

It's not even the customs guys. It is more about: How can I explain the check-in girl, that I take this thing to Curacao as sports equipment?
"How many pieces of luggage do you have?"
"1 piece and this .. eeehm ... snowboard ...as sports equipment"
"okay, one piece and a surfboard."
"Not surfboard! Snowboard!"
"Sorry Sir. You wanna bulls..t me?"
"Nope"
"I do not accept this. Makes 200 euros for bulky items."
"But I have my swimming goggles in there as well."
"Why didn't you tell me before? Okay 20 Euros for sports equipment."
"Thanks"
Hans: No prob, with the teasing. I have plenty to do here:

Wow, nice finishing touch, congrats Ray. We must organise a VIRUS 'SLAYER' weekendwith all these beauties around.
As for the "congrats" go they sure belong to Frank. Yes, I really wanted it this way, but Frank put the extra work and skills into it and delivered a design masterpiece! Everyone who saw it so far says, too nice to put in the snow. Yea right
So, why not make it a week or even longer and you come to Aspen next Feb. As it seems there will be a nice group of crazy Euro riders coming together again, now that will be fun!
Cheers

Yes, but don't show up with this ugly thing.
niceveeerynice
My girlfriend edit says: The model year written on the virus boards is 2011 but this is the board porn thread for 2012. That means to me:
1. I need to check, what's written on my own board.
2. Frank sold us the leftovers from last year
3. Ray, Hans and probably myself have to get outta here with these boards.
