    # of ski resorts you have ridden

I counted the other day and know that I have ridden at 22 different ski resorts. Most of them in the north east and 3 in the west. States include New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York Vermont, New Hampshire, and Colorado. How many have you ridden and what states?

I stopped counting at 50- due to my previous career as a snowboard rep, I have had the priviledge to ride at almost every resort in Western Canada, WA, OR, MT, ID AK,UT, WY, CO as well as some in Ontario, Quebec, VT, NH, and ME.

Now, I confine my resort visits to the Pacific NW. My favorites are Whistler Blackcomb, Red Mountain, Big White (all BC resorts), Lake Louise AB, Mt Baker WA, Schweitzer ID, Big Mountain MT, Powder Mountain UT,and Jackson Hole WY.

ski hill outside of Pocatello Idaho is Pebble Creek

    Resorts I've ridden:

Grew up skiing in Michigan - little hills outside of Detroit like Mt. Brighton, Mt. Holly, and Alpine Valley - those don't qualify as resorts of course, but the family did take trips to what we considered the big ski areas of Boyne Mtn, Boyne Highlands, and Crystal Mtn. Man those places looked big to me back then.

    In Idaho I've ridden:
    Sun Valley

Pommerelle (ski hill between Twin Falls and Idaho Falls)

Soldier Mountain (small hill about an hour from Sun Valley)

    In Utah I've ridden:

    Powder Mountain

    Snow Basin

Poci, Idaho's ski area is Pebble Creek. Haven't been there yet, but it looks like fun.

Haven't gotten around much, but looking forward to more travels in the future!

New Hampshire: McIntyre, Pat's Peak, Gunstock, Sunapee, Ragged, Cranmore, Cannon, Loon, Attitash, Waterville and Bretton Woods
Vermont: Mt. Snow, Jay Peak, Killington
    Maine: Sunday River
    Mass: Wachusett

I stood in the ticket line at Mountain Creek in New Jersey for about an hour once before I said to hell with it, it's not worth this for crappy snow, crowds, and 700' of vertical.

So 16 mountains total. I think I probably forgot one or two though. This list does not include backcountry either.

Another fun thread. I left this window open for a few hours and jotted down the places I've ridden. I came up with 87 total (74 in the US and 13 outside).

I've spent the most days overall at Toggenburg, NY (my local hill growing up) and Stratton, VT (my home resort for over 10 years). Whiteface, NY remains my favorite ski are of all time, with Gore, NY being a lose second and labrador, NY being my third (I'm originally from central NY and like small ski areas). Copper is my favorite Western resort, with Mammoth being a distant second. Stryn Summer Ski, Norway is my favorite non-US place. Seven Oaks, IA is my oddest (Family trip to see relatives one winter as an annoying pre-teen). Arizona Snowbowl, AZ is my most exotic/surreal, it's on a volcano north of Flagstaff, the snowline is over 10,000ft even in winter so your head is spinning and you overlook the desert all around you, including the Grand Canyon to the north, you ride white snow in scrub pines and see red all around you. If you ever ski/ride on Mars I bet it will be alot like that, sans pines. Riding in Hokkaido, Japan was an experience too (though that trip was more a vacation for an ex and I, it's also the only time I've ridden rented gear anywhere)

    NY
Whiteface, Gore, Hunter, Windham, Song Mountain, Toggenburg, Labrador, Snow Ridge, Belleayre, Bristal, Catamount, Swain, Thunder Ridge, Cazenovia Ski Club, New Woodstock Ski Bowl, Tug Hill Ski club, ADK Ski Club

Wow, some of these lists are impressive

Lots of world travelers here. Do you think that's indicative of our sport? I know we have alot of european and Canadian folks here, but man, some of those lists are unbelievable.....

    4 is my number BTW
Kirkwood (where I learned to snowboard 8 years ago)
    Bachelor
    Ashland

Don't make me count. As someone from a flat place with no snow, well you tend to get around more than many.

Some of these are linked resorts; I only listed physically distinct places. English locations are indoors or plastic. I'm sure I missed some..

    Italy (Cervinia, Andalo)
France (Meribel, Alpe d'Huez, Val Thorens, Courchevel, Tignes, Val d'Isere, Les Deux Alpes, Le Flegre, Praz d'Arly, Les Arcs, La Plange, Avoriaz,
    Montgenèvre)
Austria (Solden, St Anton, Kitzbuel, Goldek)
    Scotland (Avimore, Nevis Range, Edinburgh)
England (Rossendale, Keswick, Wellyn, Hemel, Ipswich, Bassingbourne, MK, Castleford, Sheffield, Halifax...)
    Finland (Serena)
    Norway (Stryn + somwhere else!)
Canada (Banff, Blue River, Whistler, Sun Peaks, WhiteTooth/ Kicking Horse, Revelstoke, Panorama, Vernon, Kelowna, Kimberly)
USA (Winter Park, Brekenridge, Vail, Beaver Creek, Arapahoe, Keystone, Aspen, Brian Head, Brighton, Snowbird, Powder Mountain).
