As the king of pop sang so many years ago......"I'll be there, I'll be there, just call my name and I'll be there".
King of Pop is MIchael Jackson for you young uns!!!!
I think I will spend more time on the carving stick, not sticks, this year.
Alright.
We got 3 carvers.
Who's next?

What is so special about Mountain High?![]()
Cuttin' cord, chips, and asphalt.
I can pull off 5 days a week sometimes.
They run from 8am-10pm every single day that they are open. On top of that, the drive is nothing. For me it's the 52 to the 15 to the 138 to the 2...takes 2 and a half hours and the drive isn't nearly as bad as Bear. No mountain driving at all actually.

Do you drive or your dad?
cuz if your dads driving, i think big bear is better for carving.

The runs at Summit weren't special or anything (In the sense that Broadway at Mammoth is...oh my god that's a fantastic run) compared to what I can get at East Mt. High. Sure was nice being with other carvers though. I have a season pass to high and there is NO mountain driving. My brother also goes to UCR, so it's a 45 minute drive for him, so that's another big part.
My dad doesn't like the mountain driving very much. He doesn't mind Baldy's drive, but he gets that road to himself, just the way he likes it.
Where is UCR? in San Diego like where you live?

Man, I sure have thrown a lot of acronyms at you this evening!
OEC, NSP, NMBP, UCR..
do you mind spelling the acronyms out for me? atleast the first time you throw them at me.![]()

Haha I'm up to 5 now.
Certainly will. Sometimes I forget that not everyone obsesses over everything they get involved in.
Here's one for you!
Bob took pictures of the EGR on his SBC with his DSLR prior to retrofitting it to a Ford AOD, so that in the event he created a FUBAR situation, he would at least know how it should look.
i understood FUBAR.......
im lost.
damn you and your acronyms!

Hey Kerry, I am contemplating Wednesday too. I will post this evening and let you know.
Sounds good, Terry.
Kerry ("I don't know, but I've been told - if you never slow down, you never grow old.")
I just got back from Summit. The snow was hard pack early on, which I pretty much expected with the weather warming up the way it has begun to do. But it was just grippy enough still to hold an edge. Things got better as the sun was able to its thing. However, you could tell that they were having a little bit of trouble rolling it over night. There were a lot of sections that had what Jimmy used to call "cookies" - the chunky residue left over from the snow cats' tracks. With things continuing to warm up for the next few days, I'm not overly optimistic about snow conditions come Sunday, but I'll be up there anyway - just in case.![]()

Anyone else?

Rode at Snow Summit today (Friday). Conditions stayed hard and carvable all day long. Grooming was good, I didn't encounter any cookies. The bottom half of the "Wall" was awesome!
People were complaining that it was icy; but that's because they were on the wrong equipment
I'll be surfing on Saturday and joining the crew at SS on Sunday.
woo hoo! go erwin. we'll all meet up at the beginning of the day at chair 1 right?
Cuttin' cord, chips, and asphalt.
aaron are you coming up or are you having second doubts?
Cuttin' cord, chips, and asphalt.
Sorry, I thought I had told you at the ASSESS event that I was going on Friday. I must of had that conversation with Andrea. All you carvers look alike
I have alternating Fridays off. So, yesterday was my alternate Friday. Next Saturday is my B-day. I think I'll skip riding during the MLK holiday, unless the surf is flat.
The snow is windblown ice (my dad was getting all nostalgic thinking he on the east coast again) in the San Gabriels. I ended up doing carves where my downhill edge became my downhill edge again because I just could not release from the carve.
Aaron- I took a length of bungee cord, and attached it to the "keeper" hooks on my gloves, effectively handcuffing myself into good hand position. Definitely helped, especially in crap conditions. (naked ice)
Didn't fall too much except for the carves I got stuck in. Definitely had to fully dedicate to the turn if I wanted to carve smaller radii. Loving the Coiler.
I hope the snow is better at Summit for you guys! Have fun on Hardboots Julian!
Alright Erwin! should we bring the camera and take more pictures of us?
