Yep, the LCI got it just after the ropes dropped and right before the crowds moved in. Pretty dang good up on the pitch.

Good to have Bigs, D.T., Shelly, Ice, and James back out. Kai and I had fun. Well maybe not a lot of fun down Spillway/Richards. Racer kooks in full swing. We even had Coach Matt Drinker and the Eldora Alpine Snowboard Team out for some early season drills. 11 alpine riders total today.

    Go-To Runs?

I'm just an uncloseted LCI wannabe. When Loveland opens 100% I'll go ride it on an uncrowded weekday, then try and join you guys on a weekend when I feel skilled enough to not be an embarrassment. I feel like I'm actually getting worse at A-Basin because of the current lack of easy terrain.

What are the best choices for easy cruising-carving runs at Loveland?

Hey don't worry about your skill level. The LCI welcomes any freak of any skill level... Prime example being ME ! All that's required is a passion for gettin' your carve on. Besides you will learn so much watching any one of them as well as hands on first rate instruction. Get over there and ride !!!

    The Dude is right

We welcome all. But if you still want to get some turns in before you come and play with us, here are a few runs, and you do not have to wait for the whole mountain to open up
    Lift 1
    Catwalk/Mambo/Homerun
    Chair 2
Firebowl/Turtle creek to the mid way reload, and repeat
    Chair 6
    Dueces wild(green/blue)turtle creek
Our numbers are usually greater on Sundays, all you have to do is show up at the wedge bar before 8, or at lift 1 before 8:30
    see you soon,

Loveland is less crowded than any of the other Summit Co. mountains on the weekends, so there's no reason to avoid it - especially if you're dealing with the sh*tshow called A Basin right now. Man am I glad I don't live there anymore, else I'd be tempted to throw myself into that circus!

And I second what the 'Dude said. You'd be hard pressed for any better instruction anyway (paid or free) outside the LCI. I'm a better rider for it, and I think they'll vouch for my saying that

Join then sooner rather than later, you'll be glad you did!

Hopefully Jim and I will be back soon, especially since it looks like there's maybe some white fluffy stuff on the way!

    Angie,

Did you find some foam or other solution to ease the pressure on you surf wound? Get on it if you haven't.

    See you and Jim soon.

I picked up some foam today at the pharmacy in Aspen. It might be a little too stiff, but I'll give it a whirl and see what happens. In other news, Jim and I both got new helmets...which does nothing for my surf wound.

    Yo! LCI

Carrie went down below the gaper knoll. Long story shortened, I ended up driving her to the hospital after patrol recommended it for some tenderness on her left side. Well, Carrie is now sporting a broken rib. Bad part is she doesn't even know what happened. Just thought I would pass along the info since you all know her.

Just making sure a friend is alright Pete, that's all.

Kai was quite concerned. When I got home he asked if Carrie was alright probably 5 times.

Posted on Lovey's site: Chair 2 opens Friday. More terrain to play on and disperse the masses.

Looking at the weather forecast, the kook/racer to terrain ratio, I think I will be riding my bike tomorrow.

Glad I made the choice I did, they have delayed opening due to high winds, you know it has got to be bad if they are not even spinning the chairs yet. Heading to Green mountain in a few hours if anyone is interested

as I passed it yesterday, the snow is looking surprisingly decent (from what I could see from the highway). More snow in the forecast for Sat/Sun, we'll see if we actually get any. Last 2 storms, not much.

    Talking 'Riff Raff' alert

LCI, just a fair warning, I'm headed your way Dec. 6 -16 again this year. Staying in Dillion & have Lovey 4 Paks, but will ride anywhere conditions are good.
Started sorting through my 'stuff' to pack (need to stay off of fleabay who bought all this crap) and wondered if anyone there has any interest in trying the latest (Revision VIII) Gizmo's ?
If their is interest (anyone welcome to demo, would like to get feedback from a couple of the Ladies) I'll pack a couple of sets, if not, I won't bother.
Hope the divide is getting hammered and praying that the conditions are as good as last year

Brisk...yes, it was quite brisk today. Much softer than expected. Possibly on softies tomorrow.

Gizmo...JP1, I'll test out the latest version. I'm interested to see the changes from the last one I tested.

    Thumbs up young and old

It won't be long till we have another little ripper along for the ride with the LCI. Kole started linking his heel and toe sides together yesterday. This is day five for the 8yr old and second day with me and KarverKai. KK is stoked to have his buddy learning to rip with us. Soon Kole will be riding with the LCI instead of on the same mountain as the LCI. When asked about riding Loveland with the LCI Kole said "This is great, I love it"

On another note, does anyone have questions for KarverKai? D.T. and I would like to put together a video interview about alpine boarding with KK. Let me know so that I can compile a list of questions for the little monkey.

    Sunday ride report

    Excellent!
Ice, The Sheriff and myself started on spillway, made our way to firecut, which we than proceeded to absolutely destroy, I felt bad for the lovey jr race team doing 1 legged drills over our trenches, but it should make them better racers. We then went over to Roulette for a few, which we had to ourselves, they opened up all of the trails to the south, so no one was interested in the bigger pitch. The only racers we had to deal with were the aforementioned lovey team, and they where a non issue. Lot was only 1/2 full by the time we where done, and the only liftline we had to deal with was on our last run, and that was becuse someone bullwheeled up top and it took a bit to reset. Conditions=hero
    A very good day

    Thumbs up Sweet

From another post by Bigs: " It can happen at any time, a few years ago over Thanksgiving weekend a storm just sat on the divide, it dumped like 5 feet on lovey over 4 days, there is still plenty of time left."
    Hopefully this coming weekend .........

Hope next weekend is like Mario's report! I finally got it worked out--got 4-pack, plane tickets, car, hotel--will be there Sat and Sun Dec 3-4 to start my season (later than I wanted, but still earlier than here). You meet at Chair 1?
