Custom paint job on me helmet!

For those who care, check this out.

I just learned how to upload pics so look out (Thanks D-Sub)

My buddy Blake Mccully (Crosseyed painting, I think...) painted my Briko helmet for me a few years ago. He's done NHL goalie's masks, monster trucks, hawgs etc.

I don't actually ride with it anynore, keep it more as a conversation piece more than anything. Anyone top this one?

    Heck no, Holy Christ!

Nice one... "Where the Wild Things are" is most appropriate.

Does your buddy do commissions? I'm interested in getting my helmet painted too.

    I haven't

talked to him in a while. Last I heard he was big into motorcycles. I searched his name on google and found his website.

    www.cross-eyedair.com

or at least I think that's it. I'd contact him but I wouldn't count on him being into helmets still.... I think he did it more as a favor. Don't quote me on that though I could be totally wrong.

The pics on the site don't do it absolute justice. It is killer in real life.

George, my buddy Mike is into this. He does 100% replicas of vintage goalie masks. Look at his website http://www.hockeymasks.com
PM me, if you wish, I'll send you his cell no. It's easier dealing with a local guy. However, you relise that painting will cost quite a few times more then the helmet itself?

    Oh yeah

This is not inexpensive. Good "art" ain't cheap. You get what you pay for for sure. Totally worth it.

Hmmmm -- I thought painting a helmet was a BIG no no - paint degrades the crashworthiness.

Boeri web site - read the last part.

    Safe Schmafe

I don't ride with it anymore. I would recomend if anyone is contemplating painting their helmet, they should check with the manufaturer first. (probably, maybe, perhaps)

The helmet drawing is from a kid's book called "Where The Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak. It's a classic. I loved it as a kid and my kids love it too.

Painting on thermoplastic helmets is definitely a no no. But I was thinking on getting a fibreglass helmet and having it done, they're GTG with paints.
