    Lookout Pass

I'll be teaching at Lookout Pass this year. (I-90 on the MT/ID border) Last year I know we got some skiing time in the weekend before Thanksgiving. I know there is some snow there and about a 4" base so I'm sure it won't take too much more before they get open. My only problem is finding daycare options for the kids.....

Targhee is opening tomorrow (21st) I am going up on Thursday!!! I am sure it will be a rock board day.

The Resort formerly known as Big is looking pretty bleak for snow!!

I will report on Targhee Thursday night.

    Happy Turkey Day all!

    Big Sky

Johnasmo and I rode Targhee this weekend. It was great!! Bummer you are going to miss opening at Big.

Big Sky has been getting snow too so it should be really good.

Get any new boards for this season?

    See ya on the Big!!

a set of lovely blaze orange head stratos pros that actually fit

and a few small experiments involving small softer alpine boards with softies at high angles

Bridger opened yesterday and it was pretty darn good on the groomers. A bit scary off the groomed but good carving.

    I'm headed up tomorrow.

    Targhee again...

John and I skipped the Big Fish opening and headed to Targhee again. Great snow and good weather again. Met Michael from Munich Germany on a Nidecker GS. He was ripping up the groomers all weekend. We even had fresh tracks most of the way home on the drive.

    Turner Mountain!

Rumor around town is that Turner Mtn is opening Friday!! www.skiturner.com
Closest thing to Cat/Heliskiing there is. Not great for groomed carving but amazing fall lines, long runs with great vertical!

    Turner Mountain

Turner will NOT be opening today but will be open on Saturday the 21. Should be really good. Fresh snow has been stacking up all week with over 12 new at the summit.
