    recovery

its been going we'll. i'll have a couple good days, then some really bad ones. the good thing is, my pain really isn't 100% my hip at this point. its now about 15% hip, and 85% lower back. ive been limping for 2.5 months now, so the overcompensating will create that issue. so once i can get rid of the limp, i think ill be good. i think im in at about 65-70% recovery. im able to ride my bike which is great, it actually feels awsome after i ride.

going to nam today once i can shake the hangova.

are you back from your bug tasting contest? let me know, we can head over to lw's.

enzo, that sucks, cortezone shots eh! do they any pt options for you or is that already not working? i agree with the summer from hell, i want to do so much but i can't. the pain come and goes when it wants. ill be at a family cookout and ill be feeling awesome, but on a day when i want to go for a bike ride or hit the gym, i cant even put my sneakers on. im the only person in the gym thats allowed to were flipflops in there.

well get you **** together, there is no such thing as going into a season, even with the slightest nagging injury's and working them out as you go on.

    Secret Stash

    Polaris here!

I just got back from a MTB recon mission. SUCCESS! Located 1+ miles of sweet singletrack downhill in my own hometown. Technical cliff edge, banked turns, slick rock, rock gardens, etc. I've been riding this area for 10+ years and now this!? The only question I have is how to loop it so we can ride for a couple of hours and finish on the DH. Better yet, two loops on the DH. The climbing is easier than WV, but still a grind at times. Bucyrus, lube up that nomad. Big duke, get on that bullit and run some hills. Glenn, you're all set. The only question is when....

    Backstreets back

Deciding that now is the time to make my comeback. Been working my ass off this summer to pay off my Bruins season tickets, get a new(ish) Subaru and upgrading my bike. Haven't even got to skate much at all.

The only thing I've had time for is to ride JD's Dale...yeah thats what he calls it. Its in the shop now getting torn apart because I managed to snag a Santa Cruz Blur LT2 frame. Its paired with a sweet Fox RP23 and I got a Magura Thor 140 earlier in the summer. I'm sharing the wealth and passing the frame on for super cheap to another friend of mine.

Like you, JD, I'm in rehab as well. I went over the bars earlier in the summer and tore some ligs in my shoulder. Managing aright and getting most of the strength back so I'm down for some rides. You guys should make it down to Harold Parker State Forest. They have some killer terrain.

One last thing...drug test on Monday for another job. Wish me luck

    8/7/10 chapter meeting

gleb welcome back, long time no talk ! i see you caught the mt bike bug, that's just great because its expensive and more dangerous than snowboarding. i thought ive seen it all between you and macchattastasche on the snow, you on a bike i gotta see it so get your a$$ up to attitash this weekend.

guys, ill be at attitash on saturday finally getting my bike on a downhill track. i drove by the place twuce this weekend on way to and from storyland, im jonsin. anyone up for it, is welcome to join me. i was then thinking if we could get the guys/gals together for a cookout at tbeb in the evening at like 5ish. then some some armoured pool shooting, and nightly shenanigans could be instore. the oversurved is more than welcome to crash, plenty of room.

enzo if you want to bring your veggie burgers, could you just cook them at home, so i dont insult my grill.

so gfy's and i hope ya choke on a bottle cap!

Stevo, not a drug but a drink. Taking it wednesday now. Should be good to go.

Yeah the mtnbike bug def got me and made me pretty poor. Although before I got the Santa Cruz frame I had upgraded almost every part on the cannondale for less than half price. I already had a trip to Mt. Snow a few months back. Took one trip down on our own bikes and decided to rent theirs. They had Jamis Bam 1s that were sweet. Gonna be in CT this weekend for a slalom race but count me in for next weekend. What about highland park?

As far as me doing stupid **** on my bike...its way worse than some **** I've done on a snowboard. I got myself all the gear for downhilling. a full face helmet, a 661 pressure suit and even some padded shorts to protect the assets.

Enzo, unfortunately the only anti-depressants I can prescribe come in brownie form.

Glad you like the picture stevo

Just got my Santa Cruz back from the shop and took it out last night. Went riding with a group of people that build the trails at Harold Parker. Already managed to go over the bars but landed on my feet. Anyone up for a ride somewhere this coming week?

    Ride

I think we are gonna bust a lung or two in Concord, NH on Wednesday evening. It's only 50% uphill, and the DH is pretty sick. 530pm. Call or drop a note here if you are interested.

I may take you up on that. Going for a 4 hour ride tomorrow to get my wind back. I have a Garmin forrunner 305 gps with a heart rate monitor that is sweet. I just downloaded the data and it explained why I was dying on my ride on thurday. Taking 2 weeks off from doing anything made my heart rate go up to 196. If tomorrow is a little more successful I'll def tag along on wednesday.

    Hey Gleb!

Are you joining us tonight? I sent you an e-mail but didn't hear back. We usually ride for a couple hours and then go eat a big meal.

Looks like you'll have to count me out. I snapped the rear derailleur hanger and was waiting for UPS tracking number to tell me when it'll come in. It says that it'll be here for friday. I would get it at a shop but the only one that had it was going to charge $40. I bought 2 of them including shipping for 41. I snapped it while cranking up hill on the street without hitting anything so I'm a little annoyed. I'm not going to be able to go at all next week because of work but I'll be good for sunday the 22nd.

BTW, started my preseason workout with P90x. Highly recommend it. I just downloaded it instead of buying it on ebay for $100 or from the infomercial for $240

    Thanks for the smokes guy!

I just finished one of them. A smooth cigar, very similar to the padrone. I smoked to the nub and it was good to the finish!

Thanks for coming to concord for a ride. Maybe gleb can join us in exeter this week.

    rttc

inky whats up! probably not going to make the rttc. i know excuses are like a$$holes, but my 1st days on the snow appear to be around jlate december early january. im working on light sqauts starting next week, but ive been able to ride my bike for about a month now. its amazing how good it feels after a ride. every once in a while, my hip will pop or click doing the day to day stuff liek walking. but ill let you know, because your a$$ will be picking me up and hauling me up the hill!

on a side note spoke with reama$$ last night, we were throwing around a late january trip out to summit. but we'll see, i got invited to go to a heli trip in mid february, so it could be tight.

hows kai doing, is he the bitche$' ba$tard yet in the hills?

mack is kicking a$$ and doesn't even care about the names. all she cares about are big trucks, rocks, and going down big hills on dadda's bike. just wrapping up a week with her down the cape, she's fearless!

    gfy's!

ink, right after i posted up guess who called me ? the savidge, team garmin eh ? wow, he's like a rock star now, travelling all over the world, pounding beers and taking after business after hours with the mit. i told him he should have his own penicillin kit if he wants to be a pro.

hes got a lung buster up at mt. washington this weekend, i guess he ditched the mt bike for the road bike. still rides a bit here and there at copper in the winter. if we do get out to co this year, i got to catch up with the animal and see what he learned.

At the last rttc that I attended I'm standin' there and this skinny little dude says hey right in front of me. I look at him and he says you don't remember me? It was the savidge and I didn't place him at all. He even had a little hair on his face. Totally blew me away.

Walker said that he gets out once in a while. I would love to ride with him and D-money again some time.

If you and reamus plan a trip out let me know. I'll get the gang together again.

KarverKai is kickin a$$ in gymnastics right now. ALL the girls love him. From 6yrs to 18yrs. We have been biking a bit and I need to get him back on the skateboard again before the season starts.

I have been riding with a crew on Thursday nights and blasting the down sides. Not so speedy going up but that is ok, save it for the down.
