    stratton recon mission

    ladies,

i made a trip up to stratton yesterday with a kustamah. other than the fact that the place was filled with zoo yorkers runnin there big ginny lips, it was pissssssa. the grooming is 10x's better than lewn, and some sections have some serious pitch, coupled with the unreal grooming i had a wicked pissssssa day guy.

i made laps all day on upper liftline, then cut ova to lower standard or what appeared to be stratton's hero's highway betwixt (walpole rebel )

the weapon of choice was the chubb, jd mf bias, extra wax on the boots and no gayda.

if the weather cooperates in march you guys will love this $hithole they call stratton.

    Hero's Mountain!!

SWEET!! I can't wait to experience the sensation of a trail that doesn't have 4 different fall lines, off camber, humps, bumps, & chumps, divots, craters, ice chunks, and at least 3 different types of snow conditions all on the same trail.

I'm headed up to gOoN right now!! It makes u tough!!

    geoff,

we dont know who that GUY was. its like the snow gods flew that stud in from a$$pen, he just came over to the japa-ru and put on a clinique.

t32 will be in attendance, we don't have a solid number just yet. once we do we'll check into the eces attendance thread. we appointed stevo camp counselor, its taken longer than usuall for us to get our room and board figured out. guy father usually does it. reprensentation could be anywhere from 6-15 guys. lock and load.

If any of you guys are riding ova the next few days, the snow conditions are pretty fkn sweet. Get after it!!! The top couple inches are buttery soft and underneath it's hard but still no ice so it's fast. When you get the board on edge it just rails effortlessly. As good as it gets for manmade chum. RamJam was HERO t2b!!

JD stikkas were delivered this pm. I'll cya on the 1st.

I rode with Jeff yesterday at WV. It was raining but the riding was great. We spent the morning on Gema and Ciao. The snow was firm and hard and they were both perfect for carving. We were the only two riding on them; it was like having our own trail. We stayed to 11:30, I was soaked through, my boots were even squishing when I walked to the lodge. You may not believe me but it was my best day of freecarving this season. If you have the day off, come the BBTS club race at WV on the 31st. It should be a good time. I will be at Loon on the 1st for the USASA race, come over and heckle. I hope you all had a good Christmas.

The race is going to be on High Country. It will be GS and depending on the lane space and the timmer it may be either a PGS or single lane. Registration will be from 8 to 9 in the WVBBTS lunch room over T-Bars. First runs at 10. There will be a cash prize for the winner (last year it was $200). It will mostly be riders from WV, Loon and a few from VT (Anton and his crew). This is a good first race if you never have raced before, very low key. $20 and your lift ticket is all you need. You will need to sign a release waiver so if you are under age bring a parent or coach to sign for you. Rob come on out if you have some free time. I would like to see your boards.

I used to have a dog, but a local korean restaurant was low on inventory. He was a purebred so I was able get top dollar and fund the purchase of a new coiler.

    Gravel and Grass

They forgot to add 1" of fresh gravel, 3 inches of green grass, granite ledge with a fresh coat of white paint, some fkin guy who appears to be posting in the wrong thread, and metric ruler that the Boyne CEO reads as inches. There wasn't 22" in the woods nevermind 36. They might love to ride on rocks in Michigan, but in NH things are different. Opening big dipper and angel street on natural snow was/is a joke. They might ass well go t ta b on 100%.

Those snow totals are pure exaggeration. AND! I'm certain the base depths go all the way down to below the ground level in some spots. I'd call it -2". Can I get a refund on my pass?

    why all the negativity???

No snow at my place @ Exit 24 at 6am so we went back to sleep. Woke up an hour later to check the 7am ski report and saw 19" and practicly had a stroke. Loaded up the wif & gear and we were out the door in less than 15 min. There was still no snow all the way up to Exit 31 so we thought it was all a fkn joke. When we hit 32, we knew it was fo'real b'yatches!!! Downtown Linkin got bombed!! It was so surreal to go from nuthin to a dumpin in just a few minutes.

They defn got 12-18" of light fluffy pow on the hill. I got a sweet run down Triple Trouble just after ski patrol lifted the line. The drifts on the edge of the trail were easily 2 feet plus!! The ungroomed trails got tracked out pretty quick, but they were still pretty fun to bomb on soft boots. About half the hill got groomed to preserve the snow. These trails were buttery soft and great for carving on the softies.

More flurries for the rest of the week. Conditions should be improving on the Suck Meter @ Loon.

might be time to take down the signs "how to load a lift with crampons" and "please replace your divots"

They still need the signs on the East Basin. Even with all the snow, Big Dipper is still pretty thin between the bumps with lots of grass & free stone grinds. The gOoNs were in full force bombing that trail. What kind of wax do you guys use for grass??

Otherwise, everything else was looking good!!

    White Hole

OK so there is apparently a white hole in Lincoln that magically appeared overnight. Thanks for the on-the-scene reporting. After I saw the snow tots for Lost River and Franconia notch (11.5 inches each since Friday) I was sure they were fluffing the numbers.

    Negative? I'm not negative....

    Speed Factory

    Polaris,
Boards were dropped off @ The Speed Factory today and they'll be ready for Thurs. I'll try to have the hot dog lady make a special delivery for ya on Friday. He says he has some new structures for boards that are working out really well. The tune on my Rome Anthem softboot board is pretty sick...the grip on ice is redonkulous. Can't wait to see how the metal coilers come out!!

If anyone else needs boards tuned, I can git r done midweek.

    Boards

Sounds good G. I may play hooky on Friday. If I do, I will give you a call to set up a different delivery plan. I can't wait to run it over some rocks.

Speaking of coilers, I got a note from the GUY that he has a 165 SL VSR in the works with an approximate 10.5 SC. Sounds like a game changer fo sho.

Stray pigs don't stand a chance in my yard. Keep em in ya pen or they might end up in my freeza!

    midweek report

I think the pic on Loon's website was taken at Cannon. The wiffer went up today and said conditions were great, but still thin on Upper Boss & the free do-it-yourself-stonegrind gravel pit still exists by Camp III. They were blowin' snow on Upper Angel, Upper Flume, RumRunner, & RipSaw.

Adding to Enzo's report: Tonight, they were pulling the chairs off the Kanc Quad and by now have probably fired up the guns on Northstar.
