    ACL Reconstruction. Doctor wanted...

So the MRI results came back. My ACL is MIA and will require reconstruction.
Please recommend doctors that you have had good experiences with.

I am currently working with Dr Robert Koch. Heard anything about him?

    thanks guys....

EDIT: BTW, I live in the Boulder, CO area.

Dr. William Sterett. He did surgery on my broken tibia. did an excellent job. he works at vail valley medical center. he was at italy as US Olympics ski/snowboard team doctor.

EDIT: I do not know about his experience with ACL reconstruction, but if he's the US Team's doctor, I'd bet my right nut he could do it real well.

You have to go see a knee specialist. Orthopedics really is getting to be that specialized and a doc that does pilon fractures(tib-fibs) may not doing anything above the ankle in terms of joints.....

I'd check out the medical school's website and see which faculty is listed with either sports medicine or ortho surgery with knees

Yo! Neeraj! Are you out from under the anesthesia yet? How's the preliminary post op eval look?
The older I get, the longer it hurts.

It's going pretty good. I've started with the CPM already and worked my way up to 45 degrees. I'm sure the Percocet is helping out too. It's a little painfull right now. The 2nd day (tomorrow) is always the most painful.
The pictures looked nice and clean. Just a torn ACL. LCL, MCL, meniscus all look great. thanks!

Did you get a chance to right your board yet? How was it?

Not yet. I'm not sure if I'll get to ride it before the end of this season. When I got it home and dropped it on the carpet, it slid about half way across my living room. I guess that means its fast.

Or you need a new carpet.

    Just a quick update...

Thanks guys for the advise/recomendations/vibes/etc..I ended up just going with Dr Koch. Turns out that a few people I know through a friend have had acl recontructions done by him and had no complaints.

Rehab is going really well at the Boulder Center for Sports Medicine. I have over 100 degrees of flexion and can almost strighten it all the way (0 degrees). I rode the stationary bike for the first time yesterday.

Can't wait for next season already....

Can't make it out today. I'm not exactly in Boulder anymore. I live in Broomfield. Not too far off.
In any case, I already have some plans tonight. How about tomorrow (Friday)?
