I'm happy to give the board a home. I'll send mail.
I'm a solid intermediate and kinda 'surfy'. I learned on a 162cm Ultraprime and a Volant SL. Most of my turns have been on a 169cm 4WD as a volunteer patroller at Incline 2005-2007. I took a...
I sold all my boards 3 years ago, thinking that I was going to become a skier instead.
Well, that was stoopid.
I still have TD2s and boots, but I'm looking for a ~162cm SL/freecarving kind of...
I picked my spouse - easy choice. I'm bloody lucky - here's why:
My wife's Mom's group, has been reading Dr Laura's "Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands" recently. My wife is going along with...
Yes, quite right - my 169 Prior 4wd just floats all 190lb of me and my gear in 1' of powder.
By the way, on driving trips: Dad would yell "Don't do it!" at wedding processions.
Tell us that,...
Dad lost the end of his middle finger to an industrial lathe - he was fond of telling people he'd just met (especially kids, and also my girlfriend, now wife), that he had kept the severed end, and...
Driving past cemetaries, my father would always ask us kids, "Do you kids know why they buried those people in there?"
Every time we'd say, "NO DAD!"
Every time he'd answer, "Because they're...
I started carving in Device bindings - then gave them away (dummy)... I'm looking for another set of boots and/or bindings for my big-foot brother.
Alan.
I chose Reno. My job allows me to live anywhere in the US (on a modest professional salary), so I figure my opinion is qualified. Housing market is hot - but everything was undervalued 4 years ago,...
I had backed off a lot on my angles as well, and bought a new Donek Incline expressly for patrol days - didn't enjoy it. Bought a used Prior 4x4 and I am much happier with a smaller waisted board. ...
Today I saw that United's December in-flight magazine has a blurb on 'Magne-traction'.
Seems the jibbers have learnt to turn a board around corners...
...
Join a ski patrol and go straight to the front of the line... :D
".. the main reason for this is that they allow the rider to keep at least one hand free while attaching the bindings..."
- kept free I suppose, to scratch my bum or make gestures to heckling...
Sorry, no online link. And I'd forgotten you're north of the border - excuse me.
The article could be titled 'snowboard tobogganging for dummies' (i.e. for skiing patrollers), but he doesn't go...
Jim Craig has written a really good article in this Patrol Magazine issue, but he's completely unaware of us hardbooters. I feel we should respond - gently though.
I'd contest his 'longer leash...
Don't rush:
EBay item number: 7201388400 and 7201387692 in Minnesota
Oh - I'm not buying it if I have to ship it from Sweden.
I like mine. It is a 'busy' board - I once had the Mt Rose carvers laughing at me because I was putting in 2 turns to every one chasing a GS carver down Bonanza.
The Volant poops all over the...
My first ever post was made in haste and 'Stainless' was the end of a poorly thought out free association: carving > skidmarks > underpants > stainless.
But rather than have you suffer an...
Holly - have a speedy, uneventful recovery. Best wishes,
I wish a speedy recovery for you Dave.
I shall make no more complaints about the 'widdle cwack in my wist'.. (although, I do suffer to type this).
It had to happen... I biffed my new 4x4 at speed. In skipatrol colours no less.
Bounced 50+ yards, face-planted, bloodied nose, and a small, but inconvenient fracture to my R distal radius.
...
Ewwww. So much for being stainless...
Can't I post more than one photo at a time?
Well, I removed the binding mounts, and the topsheet looks to have oxidized (?) a little. I haven't tried buffing-out the marks.
So it's not so pretty to look at - make it $150 + shipping.
