Does any one know if I can take the stiffer black "race" toungue from my old 125's and put it on a 124 freecarve boot?

Should work, as long as they are the same size (which will be either 22-24.5, 25-27.5, or 28+)

It's not lame - I've done it before myself, used tongiues from a 325 to stiffen a 423.

I did it it should be fine. The tongue was enen a size smaller and I got many runs from them
