I had this board custom made for me. It's basically their stock 160 SL model with 2 mm of taper to it. I love the board, ridden it twice. Only problem is: it's too stiff for me. Black topsheet, perfect base and edges. I haven't even ground thebase yet so it's still at factory thickness. $400 is as low as I can go on it.

As I said in my first post, it's their stock 160: 144 effective edge, 8.8 sidecut, 19.5 waist, and the 2 mm taper. Attached is a pic for anyone wanting to see the board

you mention a 2mm taper. Where is the taper in what axis and on what dimension and whyd you do it?

Taper is the difference in width from nose to tail, normally the tail is the narrower of the two. In this case a tail two mm narrower than the nose would allow the board to release from carves a little easier than if there was no taper. Every manufacturer has their own ideas on these dimensions, especially on slalom boards.

And Chris said it all. Basically, Donek doesn't usually use any taper in their boards. I am a big fan of a little bit of taper on my boards. With the type of riding I do, the taper makes boards a lot more manueverable in the bumps or in tight race courses. It makes the boards much more "flickable" in tight, emergency situations as well.

thank the heavens I was afraid that I would end up buying it if it didn't go sooner or later...that size, shape and stiffness would have been perfect for me on icy days...my wife would have killed me
