These 04/05 boots have about 5 hours of use. Click here (http://www.keithbernardfamily.com/CarvingGear/Boots/StratosPro.html) for more picutres. The size is Mondo 25.5, and the boots were not modified when I was fitted. These boots come with two interchangeable tongues so you may vary the forward stiffness. Additional forefoot sole plates, tools for adjusting the cant, flex, and lean, and the owner's manual are included.
I would be happy to ship these free via FedEx Ground to anywhere in the continental US. If you would prefer a faster shipping method, you will only be responsible for the cost above FedEx Ground. If you live in Alaska, Hawaii, or outside the US, let me know and we can work something out.
I was originally hoping for $385 since these are essentially new, but I realize I was talking crazy. I am knocking the price down to $275.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
Keith

yeah...Id like to try them in 27, but am going to order a pair of 26 in the standard stratos from Starting Gate and see how they work if I put a 27 liner in
I can get into these 26.5s as is but theyre pretty damn stiff and Im leaning more and more away from super stiff

D-sub,
Before you get new boots have you tried riding with the powerstrap and the top buckle fairly loose? I normally keep my top buckle on the 4th notch and my power strap pulled very tight. I was riding powder and bumps the past couple weekends and found that if I kept my top buckles two notches looser and the power strap just tight rather than pulled very tight, it was like a different pair of boots.
In addition, you can adjust the forward lean and the stiffness with the screw on the back, which can give a little more softness.
Finally, have you tried it with the softer tongues? I haven't done that yet, as I find that I can get them softer than I like with just buckle and strap adjustments, but it might be worth a try.

Who is Starting Gate? Are they boot fitters over near Bend? I am trying to find a source for Head boots. Have you had any luck?
I Noticed Fin is sold out in 27.5
I have yet to try Head boots but I really disike the buckle system on the raichle's and the cant mechanism. I am looking for a medium to stiff flex.

Starting gate is a ski/board shop in Bondville, VT. Just down the road from Stratton. Great place. I'd definitly reccommend them.

thanks for the info...in all honesty I didnt even ride the Pros. Putting them on they just felt way too "clampy" which is exactly how I dont like my suzukas to feel...happens when theyre cranked too tight. this seemed to happen at whatever setting with the pros. heard the stratos is somewhat softer plastic
just experimenting. If I dont keep either pair I know people who can or will

I tried all of the things you mentioned with a pair of Stratos LTD and they still felt way too stiff. I ride them in walk mode, buckles as loose as I could go without them being sloppy, and still couldn't flex 'em. And I am a big guy, 195 pounds.
I *think* the problem was that the buckles were hitting each other which severely impeded flex. Despite my weight, I have bony ankles and feet.
As much as I hate the Raichle ratchets and cants, I still prefer the 225's over anything else I've tried. Haven't tried the Suzukas, but my impression is they will be stuffer than I like.

Mike--I can see how buckles hitting could cause that. I have squeezed my feet into a pair of 25.5s (with several modifications thanks to the fine folks at Starting Gate), but I have short, fat, high-volume feet. In fact I have the lower three buckles on the first notch.
I used to have to really crank my 413s down, and I was concerned that these boots may be too small, but they're working out great for me.
I originally set these up to be as stiff as I could get them, but based on your posts here and on rec.skiing.snowboarding, I played with them and think I have found the sweetspot. I'm about 20 pounds heavier than you, so that may make a bit of a difference.
D-Sub--These boots will pack out, not a huge amount, but certainly enough to get rid of that 'clampy' feeling.
