Hit RT for the first time today. Even though I was on softies, I was stoked to meet Neil S. and his racers, all on plates. Saw a Sims Burner in person for the first time. Met another carver, too, and got some footage of Neil's crew (although my camera work is horrible). Hope to be back sometime this year.

What I learned today:

1. Carving "form" (edge grab, level shoulders) can be applied to soft carving much more than I thought...

2. Riding while filming with a camcorder is very difficult, perhaps even dumb.

3. Flow bindings certainly look high quality, and apparently can go up to $500? Anyone have these?

3. "Unchained" by VH is a great song to ride too. =)

Hey Barry...sounds like Holly and I better get over to Round Top sometime! We just returned from Whitetail (were also there 'til midnight last night!)...today was a zoo, and definitely *not* carving-friendly. :(
WAY too many out-of-control beginners on Snow Park!

I've been going to Whitetail 3-4 times a week the past couple weeks, and haven't seen anyone carving or in hard boots. (Maybe I'm just missing them?)

you're not missing 'em....lol. Usually every other time I go I see a carver. I honestly can't remember what the other trails were like, but if you can get over Ski Liberthree (feet high, that is), I'd say go there. BTW, YGM.
