Lets get a listing of quality bootfitters going....

Jeff Bokum at Bob Skinners Ski & Sport...Newbury NH (at the end of the Sunapee Access road). A masterfit shop, and jeff is excellent. He used to work at Boot Doctors In Telluride before coming home. He can do it all.

For a quick fix in the berkshires (MA) see Chris Groves at Ski Fanatics in Pittsfield. Not as experienced as Jeff, and doesn't have the high tech toys, but he'll get a boot better.

I don't remember who actually fit my boots, but it was up at the Starting Gate in Bondville, VT (Stratton)...

I've had boots fit by Surefoot at Squaw Valley and by Elite Feet at the Resort at Squaw Creek. Both are great, but I prefer Surefoots custom footbed system (they mold the bed using a computer map of your foot) with its one-piece footbed. Most other shops use the vacuum molding of a 2-piece footbed.

Also note: The Carver's Almanac (http://www.alpinecarving.com/bootfitting.html) has an incredible amount of information about bootfitting. They've also listed a number of shops throughout the US. If you know of others worth putting on the Carver's Almanac List, just email to Scott (scott@alpinecarving.com) and I'm sure he'll add the info to the almanac.

The best in my mind, he has fit World Cup Ski and snowboarders and was and is our Team bootfitter since 1993.

He works for himself(own shop) now and does work for Nordica, Technica, Head team skiers at camps and has worked with the USSA, Canadians a host of Euro's and the likes of Johnny Mosely, Bode, Koznick to name but a few.

You can find him in Boulder Colorado - just ask; "Where's Larry?" and you'll get pointed in the right direction.

<a href="http://www.transonic.co.jp/alpina/alpina.html">Alpina Sports</a> in Tokyo fit my boots.

They're a niche shop that specialises in boot-fitting and other obscure stuff, and they now sell a full line of Deeluxe hard boots, as well as TD2s and Bomber Bishops! They have about 5 boot ovens lying about, and the floor is littered with old Thermoflexes, boot parts, and other assorted junk. Kinda cool.
