Well, A-Basin just announced they are done as of this weekend. So put the band back together and headed on up today to get some last minute testing in. Testing the "4mm Lite" version of the Boiler Plate and had Converse and Thedo from the Steamboat Team come out and try them as well. Sean, Mark, and Art where there doing their thing as well. Not the best test day as the snow turns to moosh pretty quick, but still beats working.

All decent pictures are purely coincidental.

4mm lite? I'll be waiting for the 3mm Japanese Girl Racer Plate. Wake me when the "Hello Kitty" Plate is ready for testing. I'll be right there.

The new "4mm Lite" is the final model I have wanted to make in the current series. This is the one that is uber torsionally soft so you can pedal your brains out with it. It was last as it needed a whole new core and mold to make. As you can see in the picture the core is much narrower and slightly thinner. Thus I could also cut the final shape down even closer into the mid section of the plate and get even more "twist" from the plate. I do like to keep the logitudinal flex on the firm side as we found if they get too soft in this direction you get an "undampened spring" effect and pogo your way down the hill. Also, they can negative camber as well (flex upward) and that is a VERY odd feeling.

Response was good as you could certainly move your feet in a pedal motion no problem. So low speed control was returned almost to 100%. You do seem to give up some top end speed stability but how much you need is up to you.

Just fun to spend the day with some friends in the sun as well.

Fin, Looks sweet! I like the additional adjustment options as a result of more inserts and axle placement locations. Any chance this version might make it into production? If you have modified the press dies, my guess is yes. Have a good summer! Tom

Tom,

That is the plan right now. This will complete the line as we will have: 5mm, 4mm, and 4mm Lite.

Best part is now I get to start work on double secret plan X :eplus2:

Yo KC,

Available Fall of 2012. So know you can chose from three models. Come by the shop next winter and try all three and decide.

Kieran: you nailed it, called the "Bomber Robo-Tech" boot. You'll need class three licence and have to fill out some paper work just to have them shipped to you.

Fin, you are of course referring to step-in sidewinders, right???
I think we have all waited long enough...
