Good gleam, my guess was that the duck bill was to keep the board from flexing to much and I see I was correct...
Picked up a used duck bill plate over the summer and was planning on trimming off the excess but am open to suggestions as to method, fiberglass I would reverse a circular saw blade, this I'm thinking of a jig saw with a metal blade at very low speed, don't want to shatter anything, anybody agree or disagree?

Tape over area you want to cut, score with a very sharp blade, cut with a hand hacksaw (new blade) on the discarded side of the line remove tape and sand edge. No need to overpower the poor thing with too much horsepower and heat ! Better yet sell it and buy a newer plate designed for a newer board, chances are the plate you have is stiff as a plank ! Red between the lines of the Apex ad their new plates are not as stiff as the old ones.

Hi lowrider have you finished designing ultra low (1.5cm) plate for ump inserts?

Yes plate has been finished and matching Coiler AM by Bruce has resulted in a combo better than I could have hoped for. After recieving the new board from Bruce i was thrilled when everything lined up perfectly 44 inserts perfectly placed I really appreciate the extra effort Bruce put into this board because it will allow me to drastically change hardware placement like its not been done before. Sadly it's final stack height came out at 1.7mm after top sheet. The lower the plate the better it seems to perform. Incorperating axle in plate allows for much lower hardware. The new board is designed with features that compliment the plate also has extended UPM and 4X4 mounts to allow for increased stance of mounting hardware.Trying to extend the loads further away from binding mounts to see if i can achieve the stability of the split plate i made last year. I'll send you some pics as soon as i replace the three cameras my son has trashed riding and filming the rails:smashfrea
