Posting a feeler out here. Anyone making the journey from NC? It looks like it's about a 12 hour drive. It's insane, but it might be fun. Never actually boarded Stratton before, but road-tripped to Killington a few times in the past.

it's a little under 10 hours from crabtree valley mall. i drive down there from just near stratton once a month for work. i'll likely be down there the week before ECES and might be able to offer a ride up if you can find a way back...

otherwise, i recommend going through VA Beach and the eastern shore. its further in miles and a slightly slower speed limit, but faster since there's never any traffic - and the snow tends to be less near the water.

10 hours sounds a lot better than the 13 that online map programs suggested.

Saille - thanks for the offer. I think it only makes sense if I carpool with someone, or, it might make more sense to fly/do a car rental.

My smartphone says Durham->Stratton is 14 hours!

mine too. smartphones are apparently unaware that the legal speed limit most of the way south of DC is 70!!

tho', of course, much depends on whether you're consuming 5 hour energy or coffee ;-)
