Boot Questions???

Its time for a new pair boots my AF600's are done. Can anyone lend some input? What are more similar(flex,stiffnes,etc) to the AF600's the Track 700's or 325's?

the track 700 is almost the same as the older 600. the older AF 700 is stiffer than both the old 600 and new 700 but all three have the same shell design so you know what you're getting in regard to general feel and fit. the other models like the 325s are a older shell design and I never liked them much....... both in how they perform and the fit, bad for wide feet.

I tried on a pair of Track 700's in a shop and found them to be a lot softer than my AF600's. Not sure if the stiffness changes at all year to year though. I used to ride with my 600's in walk mode. I went down a size and bought used Deeluxe Suzuka's with BTS on them. I can flex them more than my 600's. With that said I am much happier with the flex and fit of the smaller size boots.

My AF600's were getting older though and were a little big. I think I remember Beckman AG saying that proper fitting boots will often feel softer due to the ability to move better with your natural motion. I do feel like I need to stiffen up my boot setup now.

If it's been a while since you got boots, think about seeing someone to fit you or at the very least, measure your foot carefully and try to wear a smaller shell. I bet you will be pleasantly suprised at what comes out of it.

I have owned and own all the boots mentioned here.

Af600 and Suzuka's. I now own the white/red and the red/white track 700's.

The white/red track 700's have a very similar flex like the Suzuka's. May be even softer. The latest red/white track 700's are a lot stiffer.

Bobdea is right, the Suzuka's have the AF and the 325 and 225 have the SB flex which will make your foot sit in the boot differently, and flex differently.

I have also been told that the 325 and 700 are made of the same density plastic, but the 700s will feel stiffer because of the tongue shape and flex.

Head boots have an SB flex, and in stiffness are somewhere around the 700s.
