At a to be determined time we will select the ones we like and either pick the winner then or put it to a vote on-line. Most likely we will pick it as we don’t trust you guys that much. Probably post the winner around the same time the plate is ready for shipping in the Fall.

Having just ridden two versions of my own home made plate system for the last few days I now have a new appreciation of the concept!

"Extender" because
- it extends the range of snow conditions I can carve in.
- it will likely extend the life of older boards if the 4x4 pattern version is bought. A plate equipped 1997 167cm Avalanche all mountain board felt better than a standard glass Coiler AM 177 (sorry Bruce!).
- it extends the apparent length. The shorter board felt at least as stable at speed as the longer board, but less knocked about by the bumps, and more agile because of it's shorter length. I wasn't bothered by the extra weight at all.
- it will extend the life of my knees. It felt like my 50+yr old knees were replaced by the quads/reflexes and joint surfaces of an 18 yr old when I started riding a plate equipped all mountain board in the cut up snow of later in the day. The bumps didn't disappear, but they were less abrupt, less jarring, less likely to throw me off my balance. Using a plate equipped 180cm Riot the hardpack/ice wasn't nearly as hard to ride as I would have expected.
- with those cutouts at either end Fin's plate is an "X" ender.
