I'm waiting for head. Er. I'm waiting for the local shop to get their shipment of Stratos boots so I can get mine. Sorry Bomber, I know you carry them, but I gotta support any local shop that is willing to stock carving gear. Even if I have to pay a small premium, the thought of being able to buy boots locally and have them custom-fit by pros is just so appealing. Hopefully it will work well for them so they'll continue stocking some alpine gear for future seasons.
I was hoping to go pick them up this weekend, but alas Head isn't shipping until next week, so it'll have to wait until halloween day.
Oh, and I just got some grubs and e-rings in the mail from yyzcanuck. Thanks Dave.

Nothing on order - Nothing coming - Nothing bought -- except a new liners for my AF600s.
My car I bought off of Ebay a couple of months ago was this years ride.
Pretty happy with my main rides TD2s on - Volkl 178 and Coiler AM 177.
I am thinking the only board I'd like to add is a Prior 181 WCR but we'll see how it demos in Dec.

Nothing new but one classic Madd 158.....
maybe some new gloves too.
Otherwise my other Madd and Doneks have held up nicely for 5 years as does my patagonia outerwear and base wear. My Head s-ltds have been rockin for 4 years now (they get better each season) and my classic bomber step-ins never go out of style.

Waitin' on a coiler amx 169, my first hardboot board. I'm pretty stoked this year to get to the same comfort level on hardboots I had on softboots. I think once I do that, overall my ability level is going to be quite a bit higher.

You're gonna like bachelor. I mean, it has it's ups and downs... but on a powder day, the nw express lift absolutely rocks. You should get a board you'll like to ride in the trees, hard, soft, whatever, because that's one of the best things about bachelor.

hopin the groomers are good, too.
seems to me all hills have their ups and downs. When I lived in steamboat there was a two week or longer period in february when the snow was like concrete...so hard it looked shiny! heh...wasnt too fun compared to the "champagne powder (tm)"
:)
I like ridin trees, most definitely...just hope they have good groomers! please say yes:)

They got groomers, a few big wide open runs. Actually, this last year the new ownership seemed to be concentrating on grooming more, they put up grooming scheduals and notices and such on the lifts.

thats good to hear. funny thing is...5 years ago I would have been completely unconcerned with that, but...with the new boards on the way and a rekindled love for carving, I want to be able to ride some nice long, wide ones too:)

I met a local guy a few weeks ago who is making boards in his garage (he's got a killer set of tools), so he's making me a 175x19x13m "all mountain express." ETA: a few weeks. I have a new set of TD2 SIs for it already.
Bruce V is going to email me any day now (I hope) to tell me that a 174x17x11.5m all mountain board is coming my way. That'll have Catek Oly SIs with it.
This year I'm finally going to buy the UP(S|Z) boots I've been eyeballing for a while. Haven't actually ordered them, but will soon.
Might get a second pair of skis this season too but I haven't made up my mind yet. Ditto for ski boots. I want a taller boot than I have now. But we'll see.
Anybody want to trade their step-in TD1s for my toe-lever TD1s and twenty bucks?

A 17 cm AM - you planning on riding that puppy in the fluff?
Definitely post a pic when it comes! I'll be sure to post one of my AM... 180, 19.5 waist, 12.7 sidecut. Basically a hybrid of the 177 AM and the 180 RC II. Mine is designed explictly for spring snow, on piste and off. It'll likely be my ride of choice on the infamous Mt Hood Meadows "3 inches over groomed" as well.

Hi, Ray
Do you have some specs of this board?
Is it the new wide extremecarvingboard of VIRUS?
Did you had the opportunity to fit some new VIRUS/UPZboots with Frank? Just curious to wait for the new VIRUS website to come. Just gonna try my new STROLZ Raceplates (boots) this season.
Greets, Hans.

Hello Hans,
NO, this is not the Extremecarving board of VIRUS!
This is a 165cm board with a 17.1 cm waist... I (170cm/5'7; 75kg/165lbs) love the shorter boards
if they are build the correct way! Yes, I tried the UPZ boot as well and liked em...

From what I learned about the construction of this beast, I am really excited to ride this puppy. Well, just another week or so…

...I'm not waiting any more. I got my new TD2 SI bindings just in time before turkey fest so that I could try them out on my first day in the snow for this season. :D ...love 'em!
The only problem was that the 3 hole disks are not available yet. And most of my boards are Burtons. So I'm actually still waiting for something - hope the 3 hole disks ship soon...

The boards (extreme series) are custom build.
The Terminator (165/17.1) is a combo of carbon and texalium mesh:
<img src="http://tinypic.com/px27t">
The Gladiator "Zylon" is not displayed. It's basically the regular Gladiator shape (175/17.1), but build with Zylon!
17.1 is not really to skinny. With my boot size (26) I ride 63/60
If you want to talk skinny, look at the Black Death II (173/15.1) :D
I post some pictures once I have it.

Interesting thread, well my best new toy is a 2005 Volvo XC90. Boy what a ride. Twin turbo six. 268 hp. The car just hugs the road. Took it up to Mammoth right before Thanksgiving and it was a blast. Will be ordering a new F2 Speedster for X-mas. While up in Mammoth found out my son needed new boots and helmet (ouch!). He is also on a shop team and will need a new board and jacket (double ouch!). But this is the best early season in years so no real complaints. Have fun! jp

never met a volkl that I didn't like. Haven't ridden a recent RT, but took the squads out last spring. Personally, I like the 5 better, but then, I am a big boy...either way. I'm sure you'll love it. and the wood/grip tape look is sweet

I dont think there is a squad 5...there is the flex 4 which is last years board and I guess alot of people were snapping them, so they stiffened it up, hiked the price, gave it back to the team this year and called it the flex 3...sounds like it should be a fun ride though.
Oh and I also just got my Burton Bridge Snowdeck today :D Those little buggers are fun! I'm building a little skate park in my back yard for all my buddies to come rip up.

sorry...
my mistake. It was a very foggy weekend for me at killington last spring, and I didn't check my facts before posting... the 3 is 10% stiffer than last years board, the 4 is 10% softer than last years. apparently nobody lliked last years...everyone wanted it either stiffer of softer.
