Hi all,

As you can see by my post count I am new here. I have been riding for 15 years and of those 15, I raced during my high school (4) years on my friends Burton Prime (cant remember specs). Its been awhile since I've been in hardboots and I want to pick it up again and own my own board! I have been reading and researching alot. I recently moved to the west coast so I cant wait to hit the slopes!

Maybe you guys can help me out with picking a board, plates and boot for my specs? I do not intend to race only freecarve.

- 5' 10"
- 150 lbs
- Mondo 26

I have been looking at the FS boards, Burton/IBEX plates and deelux boots, trying to go with a stiffer board and boots but more giving plates. With my weight I'm just not too sure how stiff everything should be. I hope I am going in the right direction?

I am trying not to break my bank account so older/used boards and plates are fine. I think I would only invest more money on a new pair of boots.

I know you get alot of these questions but the closest thread similar to me was 5-11 and 200ish lbs.

Thanks,

-Kevin

As you know the most important component is the boot and the liner is more important than the shell, so keep an eye out for used 26 boots, UPZ are shorter than any other brand but what will be will be.
A used boot is gonna come with a used liner so splurge your money on orthodics and liners for the shell you get. I'd suggest surefoot and conformable liners, none better (strolz if available)
Boards and bindings go by daily, the fintec system is great and will fit any shell you are likely to get and will slide right into the F2 intec binding...
If you're only getting one board make it a coiler schtubby:) they actually show up used here, titanal construction, 170ish length 20ish width, good in any conditions, make that great in any conditions:cool:

Where about in BC are you?
There is a bunch of riders in Vancouver and surroundings. We are a very friendly bunch, can show you around the good local carving hills, help with info, maybe even gear you up.
Feel free to drop me an email: boris at blueb dot biz
