I was thinking about heading down to Hood for Thanksgiving weekend. How is the mountain that time of year usually?

You can expect anything at Hood during Thanksgiving. Some years we get a huge dump right around then and it's powder galore (but beware the rocks and stumps underneath) and some years, it's Palmer only w/ hiking required to get from the chair to snow and vice versa.

If the snow has aalreday arrived, good chance you'll want to go to Mt Hood Meadows instead.

and Meadows gets some snow -- how many riders do you think we could get together for a Fri - or Sat ride???

I bet you could get a pretty big group of riders gunning for that 1st snow. I have seen meadows open up as early November 5th and late as ? (much later). Lets plan on it if mother nature cooperates with us. Anyone going to Warren Miller this year?
