Any "skateboard" skateboarders out there?

My friend and I had an adventure

He had his skateboard, I had my sashimi (homemade ceviche for those who don't know)

On our last adventure, he showed me the old school tricks (you know, kick the board up, hope you catch it, throw it on the ground, jump on, ride away)
And I was doing that on the sashimi.

Today, he showed me the ollie and shuv-it, which I did on his board. (I have video of this)
After about 2 hours, I started getting the shuv-it (on camera)

My friend (David, which I forgot to mention above) started doing shuv-its and varial shus-its and big spins on my sashimi. (I also have video of this)

Obviously I was amazing, which made me wonder, how many skateboarders are also longboarders or carvers?

The kick flip, heel flip, rails, and ramps kind of skateboarding?

If so then thats me.

the first trick you describe it commonly called a sweeper when done on something (pool/ramp/park/bank/ditch) or a Caveman when down on flat ground. and for the record it's all skateboarding....not to mention it's infinitely cheaper to have a quiver of skateboards

Seems a lot of churches (around here anyway) have made skateboarding an outreach program. One church even has an indoor skatepark that is free. Downside is if you're over 18 you can't go in. That seems kinda odd to me. Anyway, they also have a nice subtle grade to their parking lot which is about 200 yards or so long with an entry drive of another 200 or so yards.:biggthump

Are there any longboarders out there (who maybe windsurf) that have tried windskating? Hybrid sport combining longboard skateboarding and windsurfing. I tried it for the first time a couple years ago and have refined it since. Here's a video clip of my first day. The problems I had were...

1 - I didn't want to mess up any of my decent sails so the one I'm using in the clip is a 7.0 that was about to be thrown out. Waaaay to big.

2 - The parking lot I chose (with the wind direction) was too narrow. Had the wind came from either the east or west that's a good spot because I can go lengthwise.

3 - I had the mast base mounted too far forward. I couldn't tack to get back upwind, I had to jibe and then try to push up wind and with that narrow lot it was just easier to walk it back up. (location and equipment problem)

I'm going to try to do some filming again this year, this time on a 4.0 and I've go my North / South wind direction lot picked out so I'm covered.

Edit: I should mention that the wind that day was 5-10, more towards 5.

To me, a skateboard is a plank with trucks and wheels. My favorite use for one of these things is to ride skateparks. I am of the "tricks are for kids" persuasion, and what I do mostly there is carve. That is, all four wheels on the concrete, no skidding. You're allowed to have two wheels out if you're grinding on both trucks. Slides are fun, too. The board I ride is fairly long, and people call it a longboard, but it's my shortboard.

I have a longer (skate)board I use for cruising around any slightly sloped, well-paved, traffic-free area. Here again all I'm really out to do is carve and slide. I don't do this in any serious way but that may change as I look for ways to get closer to the feeling of snowboarding.

One thing I have never had an interest in is street skating (rails, flipping board, anything on flat ground). It looks cool when others do it, and I'm slightly interested in some of this on a snowboard, but not on a skateboard.
