The largest snow storm to hit NJ didn't drop one flake on Vernon and Mountain Creek yet only 100 miles south they have over a foot. Wtf

went to Mt. Creek last weekend, well....... not so great. To small & to busy, and that check in your board or you might not find it in the same place or ever.
In mid week I guess it's cool, still ice @!@
Not saying NO NO but wasn't so wonderful.

AMK,
Weekends at Mountain Creek are difficult. I usually ride from 8:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday or Sunday mornings. Usually the crowds don't start to come out until 10:30 to 11:00. Last weekend however it seemed to be about 9:30 am the crowds came. Midweek the place is empty during the day. I usually ride from 3:30 to 6:00 during the midweek and crowds aren't that bad.

I am surprised to hear about the snow conditions. I have been out 22 days this year at Mountain Creek and almost all have been pretty good. Very carvable on Zero-G, Lower and Upper Straightaway and Devils Bit. The worst conditions will occur on weekend afternoons or any time it has rained then gets cold. Mountain Creek has come a long way in the last 12 years and most people tend to forget the 70's, 80's and early to mid 90's. Snow conditions were generally horrible.

Right now it is almost noon on Wednesday 2/10. We have about 6 inches of snow and up to another foot is expected. If I were you AMK I would try to get up here and ride before this weekend. Over the next 2 - 3 days conditions wil be great. This weekend hopefully for the first time this year moguls might form on Zero-G. Yeehaa, time to get out the bump board.

AMK,
A bunch of us are headed up to Bellaeyre on Sunday 2/21/10. Look at the Belleayre trip thread in this section. You should try to make it up. I went out to Mountain Creek today and conditions were so soft it was almost to soft. We got about a foot of snow and it is awesome. By 1:00 pm there were moguls forming on Devils Bit. This happened only because they did not groom it last night but they did grrom almost all the other slopes. I hope you can make it up here before the weekend although this snow should keep conditions pretty good through the beginning of next week.

Hey jtslalom,
thanks for info, looks like you are the person to talk to about riding at Mt. Creek. Yes, the grooming it's a little problem at Creek. This weekend riding at Hunter and Windham. Trips all around but I don't get bored this way. We should exch. #, and about Bellaeyre, well for personal reason can't go. But if/you/someone/we could organize some other trip in NY I'm in. So in!
Talk soon.( # 646 256 3663) Thanks again.
