...If you don't do it yourself, you can bring your boards to shops that are traditionally ski-only places that don't particularly like snowboarders, and they will immediately recognize your gear for what it is and treat it with care. I always get a kick out of it when I go to pick up my boards and everyone in the shop knows of them.

Yeah, I too have noticed the same thing! "Hey, your THAT guy! Sweet board, dude. Is it fun? I would like to try that ..."
I've also been to shops that have no idea what it is. :rolleyes: "Is that a mono-ski?"
:D Soon, very soon I'll be carving the snow ....
