I am curious what everyone spends on a pass at their favorite local hill.

Mt Hood Meadows , Oregon = 450$ approx. for an early season "4x4" (four people buy their passes at one time)

Used to pay 800$ early season for a full adult pass, 1000$ in season.

I'm into self-abuse, so I pay by the day...
(haven't had a pass in a long time, but usually get whatever discount/frequent user card from 2 or 3 mountains)

I get an industry deal which costs me $299 plus tax for a 7 day pass.
30-40 times this season equals cheap carving IMHO.

We should re-do this poll with options for East/West USA and Canada. In the US, I believe eastern passes are generally more expensive than western passes due to more snowmaking and grooming needed here, but I'm not sure.

576 this year since Mammoth opened up their special club in the springtime. I think it's 860 at Costco and 1600 if you buy from the mountain in season.

I spent $1400. on a pass to teton village and that is the discounted price thru my job. I had to work a lot of overtime. Currently Teton Village has the lowest snowfall recorded since 1975. To date, due to low snowfall, injured shoulders (touching the snow) and knee issues (thanks to uni-cycling) i have a whopping three hours on the snow. :(

I paid $149 for my season pass at Snow King - good 7 days plus 5 nights per week. (No bro-deal - that's the standard price for early purchase.) The top of the mountain hasn't been open due to lack of snow, but the good carving terrain is on the lower mountain anyway, and the grooming has been pretty good this year. :biggthump

I do remember that winter of 1975-76... no snow in town until well into January.

Canada's expensive, at least in my neck of the woods.

Adult season passes :

Sunshine $899
RCR Superpass (Kimberley, Fernie, Nakiska) $1699
Lake Louise $859
Nakiska $729.

Those are mid season prices. I'm pretty sure that our crew paid about $450 for the Nakiska passes preseason, and Sunshine passes can get as cheap as $529 if you buy them in March.

I just buy the ski cards because even if I do 20 days a season, I do a lot of tripping around and only ride about half of that close to home. Lake Louise card is $100, which covers 2 days, then it's $50 a day after that. Sunshine card is $79, day 1, 4 and 7 free and $58 a day otherwise. RCR card is $79, same deal with free days, and it counts across all three hills.

I have ADD when it comes to riding. I can't imagine anything more boring than riding at the same hill day in, day out. When we have 14 good ski areas within a few hours drive, I'd rather pay a bit more and hit where the conditions are good - quality over quantity, and all that.

Not made of money... but spent $1500 on passes this year

It covers eight mountains in the winter and four golf courses in the summer... and lots of other things I don't use it for

I'd go over $1K...if I had the time to use it. It's not the money, it's the time!

$333 @ Mt. Rose, no black out dates and it's only 20 minutes from work and 45 minutes from home.

I've also purchased a $199 Kirkwood pass (no Saturdays or holidays) for the last two years because the price is right and I get to ride with more of my friends from CA.

This year $799 plus $60 for a season "quiver corral" pass and $75 for a season NASTAR pass... $934 total if you count it all. If prices go up next year it sure as hell ain't going to deter me...

Mike T,

Have you heard any inside info on Mt. B. offering a late season pass this year? I think last year they had one for $89 for the last month of ops.

But now $1300 because there is 5 of us. Who said having kids does not cost you money?!?

Let's see. 20 years ago I had the instuctor jacket that was my pass, then after I gave up the instructor gig I did have a super sweet arrangement where I got to ride for free and even could bring one guest, but now I use the after work special $17 from 6-9:30, or the early bird, $20 from 10-4. I stay away from weekends and holidays. My daughter was free until last year but still gets the Jr. rate.

Free..... almost not worth the hassel of teaching though

Well, I do like teaching sometimes.... it's always nice helping people learn this sport, but if only the politics stay out of the way

(good thing I don't have to worry about my boss ever showing up here!! hahahahah)

$349.00 for a pass to Bear Mountain/Snow Summit, Calif. Yes, you read that right, two resorts for the price of one.
This includes midweek and Sundays but gets blacked out for any holiday weekend day sessions but I can go on any night session regardless of holiday period or not.

Sorry to bring back an ancient thread, but I figured it needed a new lease on life. This spring I paid $659 for a season pass to Mammoth. It's good for the rest of this season, and all of next.

~$1,950 for family seasons pass including refund insurance in case someone gets wiped out and parking. Sunshine gets really crowded and there is a lack of parking.

I teach, so I get my pass for free, but one thing I love about my mountain is that it's cheap! My boyfriend got a pass for next year for $199 and he already used it 3 times in March! So, he's already got about half of it covered and next season hasn't even started yet!

This is my first year with a pass and it was $500, which will end up making my season much cheaper than previous seasons. Next year I may spring for a fancy pass that offers early access.

My Rocky Mountain Super Pass this year was like $370 or so. Winter Park/Mary Jane and Copper, plus a few days at Steamboat and a few other perks.

My older son will be in 5th grade next season, which means he gets a pass good for three days at most Colorado mountains so I don't know what I'll do next season. Maybe buy some 4-packs at a few different places and the get the best deals I can scrounge at the rest? I don't know - it's a dillema. I've had a Jane pass for 18 of the last 20 years - don't love the idea of not having one next season......

Not having a pass is not an option:nono:

In 27yrs of skibumming I've had 25season passes and only paid for 2. The rest were employee or spouse passes.
If mrs. b0ardski doesn't teach next year because of ACL reconstruction, I'll buy the sun.-fri. pass at Schwietzer (best carve, tree, and steeps mountain in the region and priced accordingly) for $450.

But the first year I got a freebie as part of a screw up, the second year I Shot photos- got free pass. I bought the pass the third year for $1300- a bad move since the best things in life are free...more importantly the best snow years I ever experience are ones when do not pay for a season pass.... like teaching one year- or selling passes for the American Ski company..

So my third Aspen year.. was awful. But amortize the cost between the 3 years and its about $450 a year.
