Bomber got it's first taste of winter today as the snow is coming down in full force. The cars are getting covered, and we can hardly see outside of the parking lot. We are expected to get up to 8 inches by tonight!

That's on a normal day, this day is special! Fin knew it would snow today, so he banned the "frivolous activities" in the office. Last Thursday was the day for "extrcurricular activities" that included getting out of the office on the most beautiful day ever!

Here's one taken this morning (Wed 9/22) outside of Leadville, CO. Mts. Missouri, La Plata, Elbert, and Massive--some of the highest peaks in the Rockies.
Sorry about the extra wide image. I thought the vista warranted it.

Hope it's snowing where you are!

Please Michelle stop the torture you're killing us:confused: Us Ice Coast guys wouldn't see snow for at least an other 2 months. Man I should have moved to CO when I had the chance

I think I have inflicted enough torture. The last one was not me, although Leadville is about 20 minutes from where I live. What a great shot! Oh wait, it's snowing again here...... :)

boostertwo, what type of camera was used on that shot?

..likely the mountains and the snow (coupled with your stoke) that make the image look good, not the camera--and certainly not the lensman.
<img src="http://tinypic.com/5y7p5">
Camera is a Sony TRV 900 digital video camera--the same one I use on the hill to grab images of riders. Spliced the footage together on my PC to create the panorama.
While the snow won't last in the valleys, it certainly is a harbinger of good things to come!

The only images I get on this page are the ones from booster two. It won't show the others. It's obviously a setting problem. Can someone help me out so I can drool too?

Click the "user cp" button on top right, and edit your options. There's one that allows/disallows viewing of attached images. I think boostertwo is putting a link in his post, everyone else is just attaching the images.

You could do worse. Booster posts some kickass images.
Thanks all for the preview of coming attractions. All of 'em got me stoked for the coming season--but we still have a bunch of autumn to go before it finally snows here.
Makes me want to relocate someplace higher.

Our race season didn't start last year until February. I need to move to the rocks

I heard that 2 days ago they started making snow at A-Basin, and there is a possibility that either Loveland or A-Basin will open in a few weeks. Crazy!
Our race season didn't start last year until February.
That's nuts! We've had at the very least 2 1/2 months by then! Of course, we only had about 2 1/2 months of summer.... no wonder people put their sunglasses on when we put on shorts the first time in the summer!

Thank God for the Suzuki, so I can carve a little pavement! Our glaciers are melting out here and I need snow so bad it hurts. Just think, before 1995 I hated snow. Just gotta convince the wife that cold weather is a good thing, and I'll be on my way!!!!

Show her the most recent issue of National Geographic. Half the issue is devoted to the subject of global warming, evidenced by receding glaciers, melting icecaps, earlier seasonal changes and measurably higher concentrations of CO2 in the deep ocean (among other things).
This might help convince her to make the move now, while we still have white winters.
