Cafercr,
I don't think I can make take off any more weekdays until eces but either of those Sundays would be good for me. I have been to Belleayre on weekends before and the crowds aren't that bad when compared to Widham or Hunter. So I'm in for a Sunday.

Steph and I should be able to come out for a Sunday, either works.
That was the mountain I first snowboarded on circa 1985.
I grew up there, though I havent been back in at least 7 years.

Chad,

I may have room. I'm leaving from North Jersey. Where are you located?

Didn't mean it to be taken so literally. I don't need a ride as I'll be coming from the north, just wondering if it would be cool if I rode on the slopes with you guys.

The more the merrier! As we get closer to the 21st, I will post up more info as to arriving time and a meet place.

Looks like we are at about 6-7 people with at least 4 on hardshells.

All we need now is a big dump!

Hey, Im down for the 7th AND the 21st. Should be a great time. Im also in hardboots and looking for a few pointers. Havent been riding much this year so Im pretty rusty.

Question though: How do I get the $25 discount tickets for those dates? Do I just show up and buy them at the door or do I need to buy online or something?

jtslalom
January 28th, 2010, 03:59 AM
guesswho,
I was thinking the same thing. If you look up the Belleayre website it says,

"Potter Brothers Flex Days - Pick up a discounted lift ticket at any Potter Bros stores, and redeem them at our ticket windows."

So I guess you might have to visit a Potter Brothers store and buy a lift ticket through them. I guess they will give you a voucher for the 21st or something like that. Belleayre has all sorts of deals going on. Take a look at their site if you get a chance.

January 31st, 2010, 05:48 PM
Hey JT,

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately there are no potter brothers in NYC but the good news is they will mail the lift tickets to you.

So unfortunately I wont be able to make it on Feb 7th :( But Im still down for the 21st! Hope to see as many of you there as I can.

Cafer,
Dave is not very punctual. In order to avoid any one having to wait around in the morning I think I am going to drive myself and Dave. More than likely I will have to go to his house to pick him up and possibly wait around for a while before he actually gets his butt in the car. However we should designate a meeting time and place at the mountain. I think the first lift loads around 9:00 am.

Sounds like a great trip. Bellayre has great grooming and even with that rain we had, good conditions came back very quick.

If I am able to go, it will be last minute. I work Sundays but that week is in between events for me so it may be doable.

Yes the trip is definately on for Sunday Feb 21st. I have recruited my 13 year old nephew also. So I will be bringing three people including myself and have room for one more. Make sure to buy your flex tickets at any Potter Brothers store before Sunday. You can also buy them on-line and have them mailed. I think cafercr will post meeting time and place. So far it looks like as many as 15 people all together. Add your name if I missed you or if you recently decided to join. It will make for a nice carving crew.

The Overlook lodge is the second lodge about 1/4 up the hill. Make sure to park in the lot next to the overlook lodge. If not you must then take the chairlift to get to the lodge. If you are confused look at the resort map.

I had a blast riding with every one at Belleayre today. I was happy to see ten solid riders out there ripping turns and carving it up. Man it was nice to see people carving together and cranking turns down diamond slopes. It is so rare to see so many hard booters in one place at a time. It would be nice if we could make this an annual or even semi-annual thing. I know I would be in and hope the same crew and possibly others would join. It was nice meeting all of you and I hope our paths will cross again. Hope to see more at the eces.

Joe it looks like the over night thing might not happen but I am DEFINATELY in for a one day trip to Stratton Friday March 6. I will call you soon.

i'm actually a newbie to snowboarding. i've been skiing for close to 20 years and only this year started snowboarding. east coast skiing has just become too boring and well...easy. so i decided to try a new challange. i've been out a few times, but unfortunately no where rents a hard boot setup which is what i want to do. do any of the guys you ride with have any junk setup for a 6ft 165lb size 9 boot? i would love to at least try it before plunking down $400-$600 on my own. ilan.
