Well I finally mounted my TD3 with my UPZ RC10's boot size 27.5

Question.. I noticed that I had to bring in the mounting bails to the smalllest size possible... to get the engagement. but what I noticed about the TD3 against the TD2 is that I don't get that snap clamping like other bindings.. Even the TD2's I get a snap when I clamp down. The 3's just fell like a mushy clamp I can see that they are clamping down but the felling is way different. I want to make sure im not going to have a release problem.. they are tight but never snap like other bindings.. Mushy feel.. just feels different..

Any one feel the same ? just want to make sure Im locked in.. they are tight but just don't snap like the TD2's

Any one with the same on any boot. No problems?

My TD2s close kinda like you describe... mushy but tight. Never had a release from them in 3 or 4 seasons... Even when I set them somewhat looser.

Im guessing some of it is that the bombers are just burly..!! when I use F2's since they have a plastic toe piece you get that snap your used to.. Its just that I get some of that from my TD'2. dont know if I like the 3's I ride Sunday so I'll see.. If I don't feel secure I may sell them since I have a spare TD2...

Just don't like that mushy feel.. you ride thinking its just not right..and you know what thats like.. never knowing!!

Shred...I had the same issue with my UPZ/TD2 combination with my rear foot. (I kept the rear binding more loose than the front.) For the longest time I kept a light bungie cord loop around the toe my rear boot. I'd latch down the lever and then pull the bungie over it to be sure it wouldn't lift up. One day I lost the bungie but rode anyway. I haven't replaced the bungie... still no problems. I have no idea if the TD3 lever would behave differently since Fin has tweaked the shape.

yeah, not with UPZ but I have had catek and td1s do that with some ski boots as well as my af700s did that in one binding for awhile.

I think it was the metal lever digging into the plastic and causing friction wore the ledges of the boots but once there were grooves gored out I had snap again.

boy, going way back on that one. have not ridden the black cateks since like 2001.

With you talking about your TD3s and size 27 boot, I'm wondering if I'll have similar issues with my size 25 UPZs and the sidewinders. I'll have to shoot an email off to Michelle or Fin.

Hi,
Yea, I'm on RC10's with TD3's and like you describe, no snap but they have never failed.

Cheers

my rtr 27.0 do that as well on td3's. I thought it had something to do with some rubbing between the bail arms and the shell? but on catek world cups, and snowpros it is fine.
