It’s time again for us to get together and play as a group. Being that our hills are small, and limited on space, we’re going to do this on a weekday. That’ll mean more corduroy for us!
When: Wednesday, Jan. 27th, 2010
Where: Afton Alps www.aftonalps.com (http://www.aftonalps.com/)
Time: 9:30am - ?
Cost: $28 for an all day ticket, plus any food or beverages.
Who: Anyone you know who likes to dig trenches.
We will schedule a few meeting spots and times to regroup with lost riders and take some group rides. Let’s start with meeting at 9:30 by chairlift 2 off the “Alps” Chalet and take some runs down the front hills while waiting for some late sleepers. Same chair again at 2 pm to regroup with anyone lost.
Pass this on to anyone you think would be interested!

bonzo - yep, it's once a year. but there are a bunch of us who ride on a regular basis. put up a post when you're back from co if you want to find a group.
col. austin - that sucks. calling in sick won't work very well, will it? hope you're somewhere with mountains.

I plan on bringing a camera.
I don't want to miss another chance at sighting and photographing the highly secretive Hover board and lazer enhanced goggles.

I did notice going through my pictures that JoeD dominates the camera. His tongue is hanging out on many of the pics as well. Hope you make it Joe.:D

It's hard to make out in this clip, but someone came down to see if Bobble was ok after slidding out on a heelside. Bobble procedes to knock the guy down and literally pound him into the hill. In this clip he's just packing down the last of the snow covering the poor guy. As angry as Bobble can get he does like to keep the hill in good shape.

thanks but actually i'm doing one-arm pushups in front of the camera. chicks dig it.

carving gauntlets... dakine gloves from REI and the Kombi glove protectors. they might look bigger from the snow packing under the Kombis.
i liken my gloves to astronaut gloves. the only thing missing are the metal coupling rings. after a day of riding the gloves become so stiff from snow pack that i can't use the fingers to pick things up or pull the step-in release.

I wasn't too thrilled with the photos, the lighting was very tricky with sun coming from behind coupled with the dark colors most people wear. I'm sure I missed some of you, sorry about that.

Really nice pics. There are a few jems in there. I particularly like the shot of the trenched up run with a carver silhouetted on the top of the run. I also am impressed at the sharpness of the images.
Now I'm regretting not taking some time out to take a few pics. I just couldn't bring myself to break away from riding.
