Footage from finals bracket. Sorry no race audio as camera mics shorted in the snow squall earlier in the day.

Holy smokes! What the power! And all the near-crashes!

What plate system is that - it looks different to the current common ones?

It almost looks like he cut inside the gate at 1:30. it was close. Might just be the angle.

Much of the time a race will be won by the rider who makes the quickest recoveries and Jasey is the best that I know of for doing just that. He pushes to the limit, goes just over, recovers and keeps it rolling like no one else. AMAZING to watch in person at full speed. Then to be able to see it broken down in slow motion like here and see just what actually happened is very cool.

Thanks Booster,

You call that "EXPERIENCE"...

Look at the age of the Top 7:
1 ANDERSON, Jasey CAN = 34
2 MORISON, Matthew CAN
3 GALMARINI, Nevin SUI
4 REITER, Justin USA = 28
5 SCHOCH, Simon SUI = 31
6 BIVESON, Daniel SWE = 32
7 KLUG, Chris USA = 36

Copper was no easy race, racing experience becomes a factor ( not the only one ) and Jasey is one the best at that play...

It almost looks like he cut inside the gate at 1:30. it was close. Might just be the angle. It's close as a skilled WC racer can cut it. A frame grab reveals the board just to the outside of the stubby.

Hope this helps.

Nice pic! Do they have a judge at every gate in races like this?

The boards have out done the course. Bring on the real GS.

Not really going to kick out 550$ for a plate, if its not the latest and the greatest. Thou I am still not certain why the cost 550, but hey what do i know...

with the slow mo, you can really get a good look at it. its brown?

When racing in the large final... or any qualifier, these athletes are not "locked" into a pretty riding position or form. They rely on training and instinct ot get them down the hill as fast as possible.

so yes... the upper body may be quite noisy. kinda like the party after the athlete grabs the check for winning!

Often times the fastest rider is the one with the most and cleanest linked recoveries. Also see post #10.
