This may have been discussed in the past (other threads), but I've heard that Trench Diggers are a bit rough on boots. I'm strongly considering some TD2s in the near future and was just curious about others' experience/input on this issue. If there is another thread addressing this already, please point me in the right direction. Thanks!

as long as your bails are not too tight
with older cateks and raichle/deeluxe there are some minor issues but its more of it being a cheap boot shell
if I remember correctly the really old UPS stuff doesnt fit bombers

I have been using TD1s for two years: No abnormal or accelerated wear to the boots. IE - aside from a few parking lot/caffeteria scuffs, there is no damage to the boots from the TDs.

I certainly haven't had the problems with my TD2 step-ins. I've had my UPS boots for 2 seasons now (90+- days). They are pretty much toast, but not because of the bindings. The liners (Raichle Thermoflex) are shot and I've worn through two of the buckles (jury-rigged it back together with spare buckles at the Surefoot store).

Thanks for the feedback. The TD2s are looking mighty sweet - I think that's the call for me (have to wait though - $$).
