I have no idea if this is a spoof or not, but you have to check out this video. Hong Kong is built on a hill and the Mid-levels Escalator is part of their public transit system: 800 meters long with 135 m of vertical. (It's not a straight shot though - there's landings along the way.) Apparently some kids decided it would be a great idea to ride the escalator in size XL woks.
