maybe we get you guys up for a gate training session or 2 at Ward this year? always good to let the little guys see how the big boys do it. Tex, We'd love to get a guy with your experience in the mix...

I've never run the gates, but I would love to give it a go.

I am down for almost anything.

Keep us in the know.

CLOSE!

looks like it will actually be Tuesday and Saturday.

Tuesday nights will be the bigger group, more focused on gate training. 7-9PM. We moved this year to attract kids from Wachusetts extreme team, which focuses more on freestyle. Their coaches are encouraging kids to come to us for race training.

Saturdays - 2-5? - is a more free form training session, that only Ward kids will be involved in. we will do some gate work, but also more drill work and general riding skill building.

What's the deal with running gates? just have to pay for lift ticket, or is there an extra fee? I'd like to give it a shot at some point. I've got my F2 speedcross 154 and a new-to-me donek axis 172, so I'd probably be shooting for one of the tighter courses on a not-so-steep face?

For the adults, we pretty much just let you hop in (helmet required). Pay for the ticket, and you're good. we'll even give you some pointers.

as for the Pitch. check out www.skiward.com. It is a great place to start.

I suppose you can call me an adult:D
Always ride with a helmet, anyway.
Is it at mohawk or ski ward?

Dang, SkiWard is REALLY small.

I'll be at Mohawk almost every night, let me know if you wanna carve it up.

Unfortunately its over a 2 hour drive for me, but I might still be up for it a few times. It's still closer than the real mountains.
Ski ward is actually closer to me, especially for going up to after school, though I've got my local hill 15 min from school too.

Stopped by the Hawk today to check out the progress on the new lift.

They have the towers up and the cable is on.

I saw they had the chairs in pieces, but they do have them there.
Won't be long now...:biggthump

Stopped by tonight and rode for an hour or two.

Snow was hard and bumpy, not really ideal for carving. Wicked fast though...

We'll see how it compares to VT snow.
