Okay, just when you think it couldn't get more fun...

After trenching all day, a few of us will be heading roller skating around 8pm in the evening at Lloyd's. If you have any legs left, come and join us!

Make sure you are wearing a t-shirt with something hard-boot related on it.

Will there be any special lift ticket rates for us???

I only have a mid week pass/

The past few years I haven't even been able to get an announcement put on the website let alone any kind of deals :(

However, a few of us have an RCR Season Pass booklet which should have some discounts in them. I plan on arriving early (about 8:30am), so come find me in the main lodge and I'll hook you up with what I've got.

Not sure what I look like? My entire family should be there - here is a pic. We all should be carving that day. From left to right, Brad, Ann, myself and Alaina.

Never been to one of these let alone ridden with another hardbooter. Definitely gonna try and make the trip down there. Bit rusty tho. Haven't touched a board for a couple years.

Not a big deal. There will be many riders of all abilities attending the session. It would be great if you could make it!

Looks like I'm gonna make it. Going to be late tho. I guess I'll see all of you guys/gals on the slope. I'm sure a large group of trenchers won't be too hard to find or track.

Looks like it's going to be a downhill ice rink. That page says the basedepth is a mere 59cm. Is that accurate ? It seems really thin to me.

I'm switching to 'definite maybe'. I'll wait to see what the conditions are like.

Was just there on Sunday and it was fantastic up on Gold. Snow depth is fine.

But since then, the temps have gone above zero and will go back down before Saturday -- that's the recipe for ice. :)

But I prefer the ice & hardpack to moguls. So as long as the sun is shinning, there are no rock exposures, and there's lots of room to carve, I'll be happy.

:biggthumpHey NES freaks, I was just up there today and the snow was very good for carving. At least it was up on Gold. Sorry no word on how it was on Silver as we never left Red Crow because it was so nice.

Wasn't warm enough to melt anything today so I am sure it will be pretty good even if ... when it gets cold.

See you all Sat.!

Sorry man I forgot to mention that there are no rocks in sight where we have been riding and we have been cutting it pretty deep since November. Riceball is sick and he has not mentioned any rock action to me as well.

I was snowboarding last sunday at Nakiska, and I met a couple of the guys and they told me about this weekend. Iam 100% new to the hardbooting, as I have a board and some bindings, and boots all of which are not assembled. If I was able to make it, would anybody have time to maybe tell me if what I have is worth trying to put together? Thanks Whaack.

Just bring it. There will be enough gear and people to help you set it up. I'll be bringing some spare gear as well, so we'll sort something out.

You won't get to hang out with this many hardbooters all that often - take advantage.

Just got an email, plane tickets were listed as $79 each way to/from Winnipeg on AirCanada! :D Yahoo! But you have to buy tickets 5 days in advance or the price more than doubles. :(

Bummer. See some of you at SES instead!

Too bad you can't make it. I just got a call from Dave (Patroller at Nakiska) and he said he probably had half a dozen more people that would have come if they knew about the event sooner. I promise next year that I'll try and get notification out sooner and additionally outside of this forum.

I also spoke with Walt at Nakiska and tried to get a run closed off for us, but it was too short of notice and would have cost $200. Again, I'll try and get on this sooner for next year!

Allison, Brad, Ann, Darcy, Wonser and I will be heading down to SES, so we'll see you there!

See everyone on Saturday. It's snowing now and with the temp being cooler the snow should be fantastic. Just remember your woolies...;)

I got caught too. I figured it's January and the sales prices would be around for a bit, given the market conditions.

So, I'll be skipping NES this year.

i am still at work and days off not to far off.
I would like to get out and ride with some carvers being an ex racer. I dropped in at COP once in awhile. I will post when I will be heading out to ride and see who is around.

Enjoy the NES, I am jealous.
Dig some trenchs for me.

Thanks to everyone who came out for NES 2009. Despite the cold (-26C), the snow was in really good shape and there were no crowds. As requested, I have created a new Facebook group called the "Alberta Carving Club" and uploaded more photos there. Please join!
