View Full Version : SES 09 Sharing housing?

Michelle
October 7th, 2008, 03:20 PM
We have had a couple of e-mails from people planning to come to the 09' SES in Aspen as they want to contact others to work out some housing options (share a condo, house, room, etc).

Soooooo, lets use this thread for anyone who wants to get together about housing and also getting rides to Aspen.

Lets still keep the main SES talk here please:

* Disclaimer: Bomber in no way takes responsibility for who connects with who on this thread. If the couple you share a condo with likes to play the tuba at 2:00am, dances in their underwear, and eats boiled cabbage every day, don't come cry'n to us! :o

Yeah they are definately up on the last couple of years. Still, earning pounds helps a bit.

I booked a 2 bedroom condo in Aspen, each room has two twin beds. I have roommates for the other bedroom and there is one spot left sharing the bedroom with me. I snore greatly; my first SES roomie used earplugs. $80 per night, any number of nights(from 1 to 7). I have reserved the nights of the 7th through the 13th. If any of y'all are interested, contact me through BOL

I'm definately interested.

I also "don't Drive" a car right now..... Housing and transportation would be a double whammy for myself also.

I have no problem chipping in for gas, or rental fees... Just need a chauffeur. hahha

I'm planning on going. I'll be by myself so I'll probably be doing the St Moritz hostel unless a better offer comes along. Also, I'll be driving up from the Denver area so I can do a rideshare as well.

One or two other Wisconsin carvers, and I, will very likely be coming for the whole week. Anyone else in the Midwest or between want to car pool to save more on gas as well as lodging. We're 30 something professionals, non-smokers, married and neat :ices_ange

Feel free to call me as it gets closer 414-731-8400

I made reservations at the St.Moritz. Dorm - room style. I'll be there by myself so this was by far the cheapest alternative ($60/night). I'm only planning on being there the last 4 days (Tuesday - Friday).

If I can work out a deal with shared housing with other carvers, I'll cancel these reservations.

Hi guys,

I've got a rather unusual request. I would like to share lodging but I don't need a bed. I'll be bringing my new 09 roadrace/dirtbike/ski-tuning shop Sportsmobile Van. (See http://www.sportsmobile.com/3_bikes.html). All I need is a place to park the van and a bathroom/shower/hottub. I'm willing to pay $ to share. In the winter the bike storage is converted to bunk beds and a board tuning shop which I'm also willing to share. There is also a 128 can beer fridge which will be fully stocked for anyone willing to share their condo.

Thanks,
Robert

PS, the van also has in motion sat-tv, 20" TV, diesel heater, Onan diesel generator, and a $13,000.00 sound system. Dirt bagging in style...

Hi Guys,
Four of us (Steve Buck, Ray Pesho, a newbie and me) have rented a hill-side condo at Snowmass for the SES 2009 (Feb 6-14) and are looking for one more person (non-smoker) to take a remaining twin bed for the entire period. The condo is The Timberline (check out the website) with two bedrooms and a loft with three twin beds. Steve and I have paid extra to have the bedrooms while Ray and the newbie have 2 of the 3 twins in the loft. The third twin is available for $110/nite. Payment if full will be required to secure the room.
Please contact me if you are interested? Dan Lambert

I am going to be looking for sleeping arrangements for 2 people.

No bed needed. Will take what I can get. Couch, floor, bathtub, whatever!

My dates are Feb. 12-15.

I already have a flight booked into Denver, will probably take a shuttle to Aspen.

Can anybody help me out???
Please email me if you can.

I'm a little late to the party here ... trying to set up my lodging somewhat belatedly. I'm gonna be there for the whole week. Showing up Friday at 7pm, leaving on Saturday at 4pm so I'm looking for a place to sleep from Friday the 6th to Friday the 13th (yikes!). I'm definitely in aspen to ride, and planning on rising early for the most part though I do like the occasional nightlife. Somewhat budget conscious, particularly given this is aspen - I'm not too choosy, housebroken, and easy to get along with.

Otherwise, if there is still room at the St.Moritz, I am thinking of getting a private dorm room for the whole week. Looks like these sleep two, so I would be more than happy to share with another person to keep the costs down.

Does anybody have room for 2 for just Wed, Thurs, and Friday nights?

If not I might be looking at a private St. Moritz room so if anybody wants to share or upgrade for those nights? I haven't even called the St. Moritz so they might already be gone?

You need to be green friendly. :eplus2:

Qq,
I had the chance to hang with these guys at last years SES and they are a good group. Their location is excellent and I'm sure that you will have no regrets if you take Dan up on his offer.

Thanks Dan - I totally appreciate the offer but I think I have decided to go with the cheap route and sleep in a shared bunk at the St.Moritz - you're place sounds totally awesome but I can still cut my lodging costs quite a bit by staying in the cheap seats.

I will be driving up from Denver Monday after work and home after riding on Friday. Anyone want to rideshare?

Queequeg - If you have not already put down a non-refundable deposit at St Moritz, I can check if our group would agree to give you the last bed for the same cost as the St Moritz dorm. Interested? Either way - see you soon in Aspen. We too are from the east - so real snow at Aspen is like a totally unique experience.

Ack! I totally put down my deposit yesterday otherwise I would have jumped all over your (very kind) offer. Looking forward to meeting you and everyone else at SES!

Yes - real snow. I'm totally thrilled for it. I took a week off to ride in summit county in november, and was totally amazed to see that their early season "ice" is like, a perfect day on the east coast. Lucky bastards!

Hey Queequeg - It may be too much of a hassle for you, but you could always call back St Moritz and cancel - they will at most keep 20% of 2 days deposit. I have stayed at St Moritz and they are generally pretty accomodating when it comes to changes, especially if you have just booked within the past couple of days. Just in case you did't think of it! Ok so we know we aren't going to be located in Aspen, but we have a bed available in Basalt as one of our parties had to depart. We'll have several people with vehicles there, so transportation won't be a problem. It will be myself, Al, Allee, Kimo and our friend Tom from Madison.

If there is anyone who's still looking for lodging, let me or Algunderfoot know.

Cheers!

Thinking about making a last minute attempt to attend my first SES. Had Warren Miller's voice echoing around in my head "If you don't do it this year you're just be another year older when you do" (something like that) and can get frequent flier miles into Aspen.

Landing Tuesday evening and leaving Saturday morning. Just me and a board or two. Non-smoker, easy going, early riser (first tracks you know) and this will be my first time out west ever. Willing to pay for reasonable room cost and help with fuel $$. Have several Bomber references if requested.
Keeping my fingers crossed.

Jesse - have you checked out the St Moritz? I'm staying there (as are a number of other carvers). By far the lowest rate around ($60/night for a bed in a shared dorm room).

This will be my 1st time to SES as well. I'm driving up Tuesday PM & returning Friday PM.

If you're flight times are close enough, maybe we could share a ride.

Let me know - John

So I just figured out that I can make this. I will be there Wed, Thur, Fri night only.

Of course the rooms that I could afford at the Moritz are no longer available.

I have camped in my car before but just for a day or two and I will need a shower or three during my time there.

Anyone have room to share? Will carve for floor space.

Not that any would need it but I am a 15 year HB instructor and photographer.
Trades for lodging or???

Thanks for looking.

My chances of getting down for SES have taken a few economic hits, but I am still trying to make it happen.I am going to commute from Avon most likely, unless I find floorspace as well. That said,I have a couple of places to stay there and around Vail with great friends and I shouldn't have a problem inviting you to stay as well.I will keep you posted in case you need to take me up on this(assuming I can make it of course).I should know in the next few days whether I can make it.Steve
ps,I was followed around the hill yestetrday by a woman from Sun Valley who said I was the first she'd seen around here but that she regularly sees a few good hardbooters there.

I have a small two bedroom condo for the SES week with four twin beds. Located in Aspen. Dredman and Johnasmo are occupying one of the rooms and I have an unoccupied bed in the room in which I will be staying. Your welcome to join us but be warned that my wife complains of my snoring:sleep:
Only $80 USD per night. Contact me through BOL if you are interested.

Thanks Steve, Jim and Big Mario ( for the phone call ). I may have found a dirt bag, low budg spot and will find out for sure tomorrow or the next day.

Had a rippin day last Friday and can't wait to get down there with some HB brothers. Sure hope this works. I will post back if I need more assistance.

THX again to all.

I posted before but me and my best friend are looking for lodging for Wed/Thurs nights and possibly Friday. We will be driving up late Tuesday night to get there for 1st chair Wed. morning.

I'd prefer to stay Friday night and drive back Saturday but it really depends on cost.

If anybody has space for both of us on those nights let me know. We are looking into lodging right now in Aspen and the surrounding areas.

Thanks,

RDY

A group of us still have one bed available (see post #14 for details). Since time is short, we are prepared to let it go for half price ($55/nite). Any takers?

I will be attending the first part of SES09. I have a room booked in Carbondale for 2/6-2/9 ($90/night-2 beds). If anyone needs accommodation for that period I will be happy to share.
OR if anyone has a similarly priced space up valley or wants to share a room down valley, I will be happy to share ( Dan, is your space still available in Snowmass?).

Thanks,
Bob

My best friend and I have a Cabin Wed and Thurs nights @ Glenwood Canyon resort. We are riding Aspen Wed-Fri and driving back to NM after the banquet...

We have space for more if anybody is just coming for the last part of SES? PM me for details if you are making any last minute plans.
