So I went out and purchased the flex 2 Dervish the other day. Love the board, soper-turny compared to the Bozi I rode previously, and has taken some getting used to. Love the flexiness, and I can't wait until I really get the hang of it.
I destroyed the stock bushings that came with the Gulwing Charges on the first day! Threw me a definite curveball as it happened in the middle of a big carve. Anyone else had this happen? Is it common? I've only ridden seismics before and I miss my springs.

I don't have experience with chargers, but on lots of other trucks the thing that makes the biggest difference IMO is replacing the cup washers with flat ones (in fact I think randal is going to ship new trucks with flat washers from now on). Whatever type of bushing you use, flat washers help'em last longer too.

And I'm so pissed. Was tooling around on my street, working on crossstepping, etc. Totally slipped and fell, think I may have fractured my leg, as I heard and felt a snap. I almost threw up.
It was a weird fall, with the leg at an angle behind the foot, and the pain is radiating between mid calf and mid foot. I can walk and put weight on it with no pain, albeit a limp, but try and move the foot and it hurts. Anyone have anything similar happen?

have you ever rolled and ankle??? your pain sounds a lot like my left ankle when I roll it and I have thrown up once when I rolled it. It's a pretty common skate injury, I have to wear an Ankle Brace whenever I skate any kind of tricks or terrain.

I wish I had just rolled it. I've got an ortho appt tomorrow, and I went out and bought some crutches as well. Stupid leg.

ouch, I am very careful about the tricks I do now having rolled my ankle many many times, I do all the Physical Therapy that I've been taught and I wear my brace whenever I'm even thinking about tricks. Especially when I'm doing dorky curb tricks in my driveway. Carving. DH and Slalom are pretty much the only time I don't wear it because that helps strengthen it. Sorry to hear it's more serious

Damn toys! ;)
That stinks. Hope you get decent news from the ortho.

I love my dervish to death! Although i haven't used it since I got my Axe II slalom board. I was just beginning to get the hang of cross stepping too. I'll get back on it when my longboard friends come back to school so we can all start sliding again.
I hope your leg heals up fast, and that you'll be fine to ride this winter. Good luck!

Whohoo!! Its not broken. However, I have strained some ligaments that hold tib fib together, so I'm in a walking booty for three weeks, and I should expect to be sore for a few months. Stupid leg

That's good to know....Might I recommend a S-one ankle brace once it's time to start again

KINESIOTAPE
wear it
you will heal faster and there will be less discomfort
you may have noticed USA beach volleyball gal wearing it on her shoulder during the olympics. ITs good stuff

Heh, I'm practically all healed up. Still a little sore, but I went jet skiing this morning without the boot on and it felt just fine
