Just found myself some burton race plates with the carbon fiber base plate for dirt cheap that are brand spankin new.

Are they safe to use for general free riding ie is the base plate going to frag/explode/do the nasty like the old physics base plates or should I be using them as spare parts (bails etc) for my regular race plates.

What part of the binding is made of CF? The whole baseplate, or just the center disc?

I actually did make a pair of CF bindings. They ended up being way too stiff and uh.....caused an unexpected side effect.

I have a pair of those which I used to use a lot.
The base plate is carbon and the disk came in aluminum.
They're fine but will feel very soft compared to Bombers because of the bails.

Do you mean you own the Burton Factory? or maybe you are Jake Burton in disguise?

No, I mean I made a pair CF bindings myself.

And that side effect is...

Impotence? Blindness? Extreme loss of money?

The bindings turned me into a short, fat, 40 year old, man with no job, no life, and a strong Lawnguyland accent.

Actually, the bindings broke the topsheet. At the very least, I should have mounted them on a rubber gasket like with the TD2s. Revision1 will make use of UD fabric which should help a bit, too.
